Get A Jump on Tomorrow…..

Your Daily Horoscopes for Friday, July 3rd

by Rick Levine

The cosmos offers us a chance to synthesize recent experiences as the Moon flies into conceptual Aquarius at 8:20 am EDT. We finally have enough time to breathe deeply and consider the larger context of our lives. Meanwhile, chatty Mercury forms a cooperative sextile with giant Jupiter, turning the simplest conversations into philosophical discussions. Although communication is essential, we can wait to put our words into action. No hurry, no worry.

Aries Horoscope

(Mar 21 – Apr 19)

You’re relieved by the realization that the potential for positive change outweighs your fear of the unknown. You still don’t know what to expect even if you’re busy anticipating all the best-case scenarios. Events continue to unfold rapidly and you believe you must respond to them right away. Nevertheless, you have more time than you think, so give yourself permission now to experience the excitement without trying to figure everything out. Ironically, you will find your answers about the future by living in the present.

Taurus Horoscope

(Apr 20 – May 20)

You’re naturally more comfortable when you know exactly where every twist and turn will take you on the road ahead. Unfortunately, you’re likely to grow anxious if you’re unable to describe all the changes occurring in your life now. Luckily, you have a fantastic opportunity to envision your ideal world without the pressure of having to make your visions come true today. Temporarily set your most concrete goals aside and let your imagination guide you gently into the future. You can’t achieve it until you dream it.

Gemini Horoscope

(May 21 – Jun 20)

You can see farther into the distance today, but your perceptions of reality might not be as accurate as you think. Your enthusiasm is projected onto your surroundings while mischievous Mercury connects with jovial Jupiter, prompting you to imagine positive outcomes to complicated situations before you have all the facts in place. Be sure to explore the shadows, since trouble will surely surface later on if you ignore the subtleties. Investigate all the angles and then head in the direction of your chosen future. Making the most informed decisions possible vastly improves your chances for success.

Cancer Horoscope

(Jun 21 – Jul 22)

Coordinating your natural desire for emotional security with your current career goals might require additional analysis. At first, you may resist risking your comfort in order to make progress at work. But feeling vulnerable isn’t as frightening as the thought of missing a rare opportunity to get ahead. Even if the circumstances aren’t as ideal as you wish, you still won’t be able to forgive yourself if you don’t give your dreams your best shot now. No apologies, no regrets.

Leo Horoscope

(Jul 23 – Aug 22)

Your social network is in the midst of change, yet letting go of unhealthy relationships isn’t as messy as you might expect. Your interests are shifting and a new acquaintance may reflect your current dreams better than an old one. Rather than fearfully clinging to the past, embrace the exciting potential that’s around the next bend. Just remember, it’s not an all-or-nothing proposition; you can make improvements without necessarily upsetting those who have your happiness at heart.

Virgo Horoscope

(Aug 23 – Sep 22)

Your growing excitement over an innovative idea may cause you to lose track of your feelings today as cerebral Mercury aligns with ingenious Uranus and opportunistic Jupiter. Your current emotional detachment helps you think more clearly while visualizing your future, but over-analyzing a decision can also alienate you from your heart. Pay attention to the facts, but don’t forget to delve deeper to uncover your true desires. Sometimes the most obvious choice isn’t the one that leads to happiness.

Libra Horoscope

(Sep 23 – Oct 22)

Your playful mood frees you from the weighty issues that have been lingering on your mind. The quirky Aquarius Moon is drifting through your 5th House of Creativity, intensifying your desire to express yourself more freely. Enjoy your newly found intellectual independence and explore all the different methods you can use to communicate your enthusiasm. However, without a touch of self-restraint you could easily end up wasting time on one unrealistic idea after another, leading you around in circles. Just remember that applying a small dose of caution greatly improves your game.

Scorpio Horoscope

(Oct 23 – Nov 21)

Relationships with friends and relatives are in the process of transformation because your personal freedom is exceptionally valuable to you now and you’re not likely to compromise it away. Although it’s not in your best interest to walk out on your obligations; you just don’t want anyone to assume that you’ll simply show up on demand. If you want others to respect your boundaries today, you must be willing to state them as clearly as possible. Thankfully, you can express your needs now without triggering any awkward feelings if you’re willing to be transparent.

Sagittarius Horoscope

(Nov 22 – Dec 21)

Others a

re pushing your buttons, requiring you to take a stand today and announce your position. Luckily, people are more likely to truly hear your message while philosophical Jupiter plays wing man to communicator Mercury in your 7th House of Partners. One of your greatest strengths is that you almost always see the glass half full rather than half empty. Your overall attitude is more crucial than the choices you must make now, so don’t diminish your power by suddenly harboring self-doubt. Ironically, it was Helen Keller who said, “Keep your face to the sunshine and you cannot see a shadow.”

Capricorn Horoscope

(Dec 22 – Jan 19)

Your unwavering courage inspires people to support you on your path to success. Your unwillingness to acknowledge the possibility of defeat has more of a positive impact on others now than you realize, making it nearly impossible for anyone to spread negativity in your presence. But don’t let your optimism blind you to the facts or your allies will lose faith in your ability to make sensible judgments. Luckily, you can be confident in your convictions without slipping into denial if you put the truth above everything else.

Aquarius Horoscope

(Jan 20 – Feb 18)

You’re not in the market for approval from others now; you only seek their acknowledgment and respect. Fortunately, the evocative Moon’s visit to your sign empowers you with clarity and encourages you to share your feelings. There’s no reason to worry about someone’s possible reaction today, for the truth of your words will stand on their own merit. Be genuine and speak from your heart; you will be accepted for your unique contribution by those who matter most.

Pisces Horoscope

(Feb 19 – Mar 20)

You may believe your dreams are slipping away today as the reflective Moon disappears into your 12th House of Secrets. However, the possibility of turning your unfulfilled desires into reality is still growing, even if you’re not aware of it in the present moment. Nevertheless, you might indulge yourself with a meandering detour through your favorite fantasies. Letting go of your hopes is not the right solution; use your fertile imagination to create the future you want, instead.

There can be intriguing news today.

The Witches Magick for the 2nd Day of the Mead MoonKIND BROWNIE SPELL

KIND BROWNIE SPELL

Brownies live in England and Scotland (Urisks), and are solitary faeries. They are one to two feet tall, with brown, wizened faces and hair that grows all over their body like teddy bears. They usually go naked but occasionally wear hooded brown cloaks. Brownies come out at night to do the chores when everyone is asleep, and are gone by the first cock call. They take care of the household pets, do unfinished jobs such as mowing; threshing; milking; shearing; tending the pets, livestock, and farm animals; shoe making; sewing; and cleaning.

Brownies can bring good fortune to your family provided you treat them well. Give them food and drink such as milk and cookies to win their favors, but never give them gifts or wages. To encourage a helpful brownie to come to your home, cast this spell tonight.

You will need a broom, a glass of milk, and a plate of cookies.

Before you go to sleep, sweep your front doorway and back doorway clean. Also sweep your fireplace or woodstove hearth clean if you have one. Put the glass of milk and cookies on the counter or table in your kitchen. Say:

I offer this milk and these cookies
to the kind and helpful brownies
who may grace my home tonight.
As you drift to sleep, repeat over and over:
May the kind and helpful brownies
grace my dreams and my home tonight.

In the morning, write everything you recall from your dreams in your journal. Return any remaining milk and cookies to the earth as an offering to the brownies. As you do, say:
Thank you, kind brownies.
May you always be blessed!

WOTC Extra – White Candle Spell for Blessings

WHITE CANDLE SPELL FOR BLESSING

Get a white candle — either a plain one (offertory, pillar, or taper) or a figural one in the gender of the person you want to bless. Carve the person’s full name on the candle, then dress it with Blessing Oil or Holy Oil. For more power, you may place a name-paper of the person, or a photo, or some personal item of theirs (such as a bit of hair or a snippet of clothing) either under the candle or next to it. One easy way to do this is to place the paper or personal concerns under an overturned saucer and put the candle on top of the saucer.

Burn a portion of the candle every day for seven days, pinching it out between burnings. As you light it each day, say this

[Name], May you be blessed
May all good things come to you
May nothing whatsoever harm you
May your heart be light
May your travels be safe
May your health be good
May your mind be sound
May your friendships sustain you
May you be blessed in every way

* If you have a special request for this person (such as that they find a lover, get a good job, come home safely from a war, or whatever), just add it to the list.

Some people use a large pillar-type candle and keep it going for longer than seven days. They may make a habit of burning such a candle every day — or once a week, on Sundays — for as long as their friend or relative needs help, even doing so for months at a time. If the candle is large and it is to be burned in this way, it should be re-dressed with Blessing Oil or Holy Oil once a week: after the initial dressing, you can drop a tiny bit of oil into the “well” or hole in such a large candle just before lighting it each time.

Let’s Talk Witch – Candle Spells

Let’s Talk Witch – Candle Spells

Candle spells are probably one of the most commonly used spells for many witches. They are simple to perform and often used in a ‘set and forget’ manner.

A candle spell involves taking a candle of the appropriate colour, inscribing your wish upon it, anointing the candle with an oil blend in the direction most suited to your purpose and burning the candle. If you can’t find or can’t afford the right colour, a plain white or beeswax candle with ribbon or something else in the right colours around it will work just as well. Use what you have or can find. Colour choices can be based on what that colour means regarding the purpose or what day of the week and planetary influence you are wanting to draw help from.

Inscribing the candle can be done with an athame, although I always think you’d need to have a pretty big candle or this would be somewhat unwieldy. My favourite tool for inscribing candles is a pearl headed florists pin that came from my wedding bouquet. It’s big enough to hold comfortably, but small enough to write tiny letters if that’s what I need.

An alternative to inscribing candles is to write your wish on a small piece of paper— something shaped like a ribbon— or draw a sigil and wrap it around your candle. It can be held in place with melted candle wax. Make sure that your candle is on or in a heatproof dish as this will catch fire.

I’ve seen plenty of discussion about the directions used when inscribing and anointing candles. I learned it as finding the candle’s middle point and for a drawing to you or building spell, working from both ends toward that point. For destructive, removing or banishing then you’d work away from the middle toward each end.

A friend always holds the candle with the base toward her and for a drawing spell, will work from wick to base (always careful to hold the candle so that it’s working toward her). For a banishing, she’ll work from base to wick.

The thing is, you are the magic. Whatever you believe or feels right to you will work for you. As long as you’re clear about the intent behind your spell. You can rub the oil or inscribe your words around and around if that’s what you feel you need to do. (Although in some traditions twisting the candle when anointing is the practice for manipulative spells).

As you are anointing your candle, you need to be completely focused on your purpose. See it working, see (like a movie in your head) the results you want and see how they come about. I did a money spell and saw my partner reading the winning numbers online and calling out to me that we’d won $ 10,000. I could hear the excitement in his voice and see our numbers on the computer screen. We didn’t win that one, but a month later he won the same amount in a radio competition. As stated earlier, be specific, be clear about the way your results will occur. When you feel you’ve poured as much of this into your candle as it will take, light it.

Some books will tell you that you must never use matches because of their sulphur and brimstone content and that this will bring unwanted energies to your candle. Other books say that you should only use matches as they’re made from natural products not plastic and gases raped from the earth. Again— use what comes to hand and feels right to you. If it bothers you and you don’t have the right ones available, light another candle separately (birthday cake candles work well) and use that candle to light your spell candle.

Stay focused on your candle as it’s burning. Keep that movie running in your head. Raise some energy and direct it into the candle. How long you leave your candle burning is up to you.

• Do you want to repeat this process every night for a week? This can make for a heavy duty spell. If this is what you want to do, mark the candle into 7 equal sections before beginning, or there are Seven Day Candles available— they have seven ‘knobs’ up their length, but simple marks are fine.
• Do you want to repeat it once a month on the full moon and spend a long time reinforcing the energies of this spell?
• Do you want to make it all happen right now?
• Do you want to use part of the candle in another form of the spell?

For example tying it in a bundle with herbs and burying it or melting it down and making a talisman from it.
One of the other points of discussion around candles is whether they should be blown out, snuffed, pinched or left to burn out completely. I’ve read that blowing it out is Air overpowering Fire and is offensive to Fire elementals. Similarly, that snuffing or pinching is snuffing or pinching out your desire. Burning a spell candle out completely is often unsafe (especially if you have a candle that will burn for 6 or more hours) and is of no use if you are doing a seven day candle spell. I can give you reasons why each one is right and wrong. Don’t fool yourself that any form is more or less disrespectful than others. Either way, by putting out the flame, the Fire element is being overpowered. You need to follow what works for you.

Personally, I blow mine out and picture my wish being blown toward what is needed for it to get results. For some spells, I let it burn out completely (safely of course). Some of the smaller votives can be good for this, or if it’s a little wish, birthday cake candles can work too.

Disposing of the candle remnants is also a choice you will have to make. I used to bury candle ends to complete the spell, but was told that depending on the composition of the candle, this could be poisoning the earth it was buried in. One friend flung her ends into the fire, another saved them, then cleansed them and melted them down to make new candles from the ends. Yet another friend saves his partial spell candles and uses them again for a similar spell. The build-up of energy from repeated spells makes them more powerful.

There is plenty of folklore about paying attention to the way a candle burns. If the flame is abnormally high, if it dances, leans toward a specific direction or the ways the melted wax drips. Sometimes there may be a message in this, but first, please check that it’s not simply in a draft. Additionally a cheap candle may drip more than an expensive one. Too many people on this path see something spooky where there really isn’t. Be wary of seeing messages in everything you do. Sometimes a candle drip is just a candle drip.

An important note about candle safety— many house fires are caused by candles. It’s hard to imagine that the tiny flame on a candle can turn into something so destructive but it is still a fire regardless of size. Always make sure that nothing can blow or drape over your candle flame. Things like curtains, sleeves and long hair can easily blow onto a candle especially in a draft and lead to disaster. Another safety tip is that a metal candle holder will heat up and can cause whatever it is sitting on to smoulder. I’ve also lost a few glass candle holders when the candle burned down low. Some just crack but others explode into a shower of fine flying glass splinters. Never assume that a candle holder is heat-proof. Always check.

Healing Wreath

Here is another witchy craft from my Book of Shadows for you to give a whril. You may decorate this wreath with either fresh or dried bontanicals; it’s up to you. Use whatever magickal healing plants you have growing at home in your garden or go to the arts and crafts store to peruse their selection of dried flowers. Should you decided to use fresh roses and allow them to dry naturally on the wreath, make sure you remove the thorns before you work with them.

Please note that I have the magickal attributes of the suggested floral materials listed for you in the supply section. So choose your herbal materials with intention and get to crafting!

• Fresh or dried sage (a Jupiter herb that encourages long life and wisdom)
• Fresh or dried feverfew (a healing and protective plant)
• Fresh or dried chamomile flowers (a healing herb that purifies and protects your health)
• Fresh or dried roses (roses speedup magickal workings and encourage a loving atmosphere in the home)
• Fresh or dried yarrow flowers (a beautiful and readily available “all purpose” magickal herb)
• Small 8- or i2-inch grapevine wreath
• Glue gun and glue sticks
• i floral wire paddle (16 gauge)
• 3 yards decorative green ribbon (green is a Jupiter color and one associated with herb magick, life, and good luck)

Gather small groups of your chosen herbs together and wire them into little bundles. dles. Now lay a bundle on top of the wreath base, and start wrapping the wire around the wreath; go over the stems of the herbs as you do this. After you have the first bundle dle wired on, twist the wire together and snip off the ends, tucking any remaining wire down into the grapevine. Continue on to your left with the process, overlapping the stems from the first herb bundle with the flowers of the next. Work your way around the wreath until it is completely covered. If necessary, add a touch of hot glue to the herbs to make them stick to the grapevine wherever it is needed. Once you have the entire wreath covered, tie up a decorative bow and secure it with the floral wire, then attach it to the wreath. When you attach the bow, say these lines:

Witchy ribbon of green, now be for me
A charm for a life that’s strong and healthy.

Use a twelve-inch length of ribbon for a hanger, if you choose. Once you are finished ished with the wreath, hold it in both of your hands and charge it full of healing energy. Repeat the charm below three times:

By love! This wreath will radiate a healing light
To ward and protect me and mine both day and night
By the power of herbs this Thursday Witch craft is spun
Bringing healing energy to all and harm to none!
Now hand up your wreath and enjoy it.

Clean up your supplies and straighten up your work area.

CUSTOM-MADE DAILY MAGICK FOR THURSDAY

CUSTOM-MADE DAILY MAGICK FOR THURSDAY

Well, let’s see … abundance, prosperity, and good health has been our focus for this day. Now how about a little more information and ideas for working practical magick with one of our fascinating featured deities of the day?

Juno was the Queen of Heaven. As the matriarch of the gods, she guarded over women in every aspect of their lives. Juno was thought to have renewed her virginity every year. Similar to other goddess stories, Juno was a triple goddess-a virgin who belonged to no one; a mother and woman in the prime of her life, sexual and mature; and also a crone, powerful, wise, and sometimes vengeful (as she made her husband’s many mistresses’ lives either fairly unhappy or short).

There are references to an early all-female triad of goddesses known as the Capitoline Triad. This triad consisted of Juventas, Juno, and Minerva. To the Greeks, they would have been known as Hebe, Hera, and Hecate. Ultimately the triad became Juno, Minerva, and the male Jupiter. Jupiter, another of Thursday’s gods, was Juno’s consort.
As mentioned earlier, Juno, in her aspect as Juno Moneta, was the patron and protector of the Roman mint. The coins produced at her temples were blessed by Juno and imbued with her powers of abundance and prosperity. In another of her aspects as Juno Augusta, Juno was the goddess of an abundant harvest.

In addition, another of Juno’s magickal correspondences is the semiprecious stone malachite. Malachite is a beautiful green-banded stone that was also called the “peacock stone” in Italy. The peacock was a sacred animal of Juno’s, and the magickal energies of malachite encourage health and prosperity.

Seasons of the Witch – Legends and Lore, Ancient Holidays And Some Not So Ancient!

Seasons of the Witch – Legends and Lore, Ancient Holidays And Some Not So Ancient!

Today Is …

Day to Honor Pregnant Women. If you know one, gift her. Drink some milk and invoke Goddess-as-Mother as you think of ways She has nurtured you.

Rome: Feast of Expectant Mothers. During this festival, pregnant women gathered at temples throughout the city to receive blessings and honor their chose patron Goddess associated with birth and fertility, of which there were many. Perhaps not so coincidentally, this day is also celebrated by the Roman Catholics as the Feast of the Visitation of Mary, who had become pregnant with God’s child, to Elizabeth. Her visit to Elizabeth was prompted by advice by the Archangel Gabriel, who had appeared to Mary and told her about her future as the Mother of God incarnate. The feast commemorates the mother.

On this day in ancient times, the citizens of Rome celebrated the Feast of Expectant Mothers. At temples throughout the city, all pregnant women gathered to receive blessings and honor Bona Dea, Carmenta, Lucina, and other Goddesses associated with birth and fertility.

NOTE: Because of the large number of ancient calendars, many in simultaneous use, as well as different ways of computing holy days (marked by the annual inundation, the solar year, the lunar month, the rising of key stars, and other celestial and terrestrial events), you may find these holy days celebrated a few days earlier or later at your local temple.

Remember The Ancient Ways and Keep Them Holy!

Thursday is also associated (in Greek mythology) to Thor – Thor’s day – and some even say that Jupiter and Thor are one in the same. Both are strong and powerful, yet wise and just. Try a small prayer to
Jupiter before commencing any ritual on Thursday as a sign of respect.
This is the proper day of the week to perform spells and rituals involving luck, happiness, health, legal matters, male fertility, treasure, wealth, honour, riches, clothing, money, desires, business, group pursuits, joy, laughter, and expansion

Thursday’s Must Dos

Thursday’s Must Dos

Try wearing some honeysuckle-scented perfume to encourage prosperity. Bewitch someone by wearing deep royal blue or brighten up a dreary day by wearing lucky, prosperity-drawing green. Brew up a pot of mint tea to help increase your cash flow. Try adding a pinch of nutmeg or cinnamon to an unscented candle to encourage some fast cash. Bake up a loaf of wheat bread for the family, and celebrate abundance and be thankful for all that you have.

Conjure up a witchy craft and create a philter or two for your magickal needs. Work with the deities and the magickal plants corresponding with Thursday.

How did the energies of the plants of Jupiter enhance your magick? What did you learn by working with Juno, Jove, or Zeus? The truth is that by adding these new techniques and information into your spellcasting repertoire, you will indeed advance your skills, thereby moving up in the ranks to become a more adept magickal practitioner

Just by believing in yourself and working toward creating abundance, health, and prosperity, you have already begun to transform your outlook on life. Put your game face on; think positively. Work with Thor for perseverance and courage, and apply those qualities to your own prosperity spells and healing witchery. Break out the tarot cards; How could you incorporate that symbolism into other spells of your own design?

Use your imagination, check Thursday’s correspondence list, and see what other bewitching things you can conjure up for prosperity magick all by yourself. Call on the gods and goddess of Thursday and bring some positive change, abundance, health, and prosperity into your life!

Thursday’s Witchery

Thursday’s Witchery

Today is the day for prosperity work of all kinds. It can also be used for healing work, whether that is a physical healing of an illness or an emotional healing. Also remember that you have to follow up your healing work and prosperity magick and physical action.

I can’t tell you the number of times I have met new witches who complain to me that their prosperity spell or “I need a better job” spell did not work as they expected. They’ll ramble on and on about how much time and money they spent working their magick….but, alas, they had no glorious manifestion of wealth or fabulous job that suddenly dropped out of the sky and landed in their laps.

Then, when I gently ask them, “Did you enchant your resume or application when you filled it out? Did you do a little confidence-boosting spellwork when you went to apply for the job or went to the interview?” typically they give me a blank, confused stare.

Nine times out of ten, their response is, “You mean I have to go out and actually look for the job too?” Um, yes, my dear, you certainly do. Magick follows the path of least resistance, which means it’s going to manifest along the simplest, quickest route. Get out there and hit the pavement. See what you can find. Times are tough and competition for good jobs is fierce, so you need whatever edge you can get. For folks like us, we’re going to get the edge by using our magick and our spellcraft.

Thursdays have such a rich source of magick for us to draw upon that, honestly, the sky is the limit. This is the day associated with the gods of the sky and heavens, after all. Get to know these deities and add their wisdom and magick into your days

Thursday

Thursday

Jupiter’s (Thor’s) day

The name is derived from Old English Þūnresdæg and Middle English Thuresday (with loss of -n-, first in northern dialects, from influence of Old Norse Þorsdagr) meaning “Thor’s Day”. Thunor, Donar (German, Donnerstag) and Thor are derived from the name of the Germanic god of thunder, Thunraz, equivalent to Jupiter in the interpretatio romana.

In most Romance languages, the day is named after the Roman god Jupiter, who was the god of sky and thunder. In Latin, the day was known as Iovis Dies, “Jupiter’s Day”. In Latin, the genitive or possessive case of Jupiter was Iovis/Jovis and thus in most Romance languages it became the word for Thursday: Italian giovedì, Spanish jueves, French jeudi, Sardinian jòvia, Catalan dijous, and Romanian joi. This is also reflected in the p-Celtic Welsh dydd Iau.

The astrological and astronomical sign of the planet Jupiter (♃Jupiter) is sometimes used to represent Thursday.

Since the Roman god Jupiter was identified with Thunor (Norse Thor in northern Europe), most Germanic languages name the day after this god: Torsdag in Danish, Norwegian, and Swedish, Hósdagur/Tórsdagur in Faroese, Donnerstag in German or Donderdag in Dutch. Finnish and Northern Sami, both non-Germanic (Uralic) languages, uses the borrowing “Torstai” and “Duorastat”. In the extinct Polabian Slavic language, it was perundan, Perun being the Slavic equivalent of Thor.

There are a number of modern names imitating the naming of Thursday after an equivalent of “Jupiter” in local tradition. In most of the languages of India, the word for Thursday is Guruvar – var meaning day and guru being the style for Bṛhaspati, guru to the gods and regent of the planet Jupiter. In Thai, the word is Wan Pharuehatsabodi – referring to the Hindu deity Bṛhaspati, also associated with Jupiter. En was an old Illyrian deity and in his honor in the Albanian language Thursday is called “Enjte”. In the Nahuatl language, Thursday is Tezcatlipotōnal meaning “day of Tezcatlipoca”.
