A Woodland Walk
If you’ve ever walked through a copse or wood,
How many times have you just stood,
And looked more closely at the trees,
At the berries or their different leaves.
The natural world has a lot to see,
Not just animals, birds or bees,
Or fish that swim in the oceans deep,
Or insects scurrying on tiny feet.
The different trees that you can see,
When you wander through a wood that’s free,
The leaves and fruits, a vast array,
Will fall to ground and rot away.
But leaves return year on year,
And produce their fruit for creatures near,
Humans and animals on these will dine,
Given by trees in the woods you’ll find.
So when you wander among the trees,
Take some time and you will see,
What mother nature’s showing you,
Perhaps you’ll see with eyes anew.
