Apple Blossom Festival
The Apple Blossom Festival is one of the oldest flower fairs in the United States. Annually held in Washington State, this welcoming back of Spring heralds from New Zealand and celebrates the blossoming of the apple orchards.
With a rich and colorful history, the apple has been treasured by almost every culture of the world. The ancient Egyptians offered apples to Hapy, the God of the Nile. Norse priests were forbidden to eat apples, due to the fruit’s legendary lustful properties. Apples are still offered to the God Chango, in the religion of Santeria, for his continued blessings and protection.
