It can be drough tolerant, but you’ll still have to keep it watered ocasionally so it will look and flower its best. Plant plenty of this wonderful-smelling herb—it’s great for sachets and dried flower arrangements, and it’s powerful magickal herb that encourages the transformation of your dreams to reality.

Magickal Plants Associated with Wednesday – The Fern

The fern is a traditional Witch’s garden plant. Ferns are herbs; they are perennials and prefer growing in the shade. There are over forty species of fern. Whether these are found growing in the wild or tucked into your backyard shade gardens, ferns are practical tical magickal plants. The fern has quite a bit of folk history behind it. It was thought that to grow ferns in the garden was lucky. Faeries were believed to jealously guard the fern, as ferns were thought to grant the power of invisibility. Deities Associated WIth Wednesday – Athena

Athena is a warrior/maiden goddess of wisdom, war, crafts, and poetry. In her war aspect, she is known as Pallas Athena. Some of the more familiar symbols for Athena are the javelin, spear, shield, and plumed helmet. She was usually depicted with an owl perched on her shoulder, symbolizing wisdom. There is some debate over Athena’s origins. gins. Traditional mythology says that she sprang full grown and ready to rumble from her father Zeus’s head, while another school of thought believes that she may have been originally a Mycenaean goddess of home and hearth.

Athena was called “bright eyed” and was a patroness of women’s rights and freedom. dom. She also presided over craftsmen, potters, weavers, and spinners. To round things up, Athena was also associated with writing, music, wisdom, justice, and peace. In this aspect, her symbols are the owl and the olive tree. In a Homeric hymn to Athena, she is described as a “glorious goddess, gray-eyed, resourceful, and of implacable heart.” The birthday of Athena was celebrated on March 23. Her sacred city was, of course, Athens.

To Do Today: To purify any area and ready it for ritual, sprinkle rainwater as you move clockwise saying,
Mujaji, flow through me;
Mujaji, cleanse me;
Mujaji, rain lightly here on all I love and hold dear.

If it does rain gently today, it is a sign of blessing. Go our and skip, dance or sing in the rain (think Gene Kelly with a magickal twist). This will renew your spirit and life any dark clouds overshadowing your heart.
