The Witches Guide to Saturday

The planetary correspondence for Saturday is Saturn. Matters dealing with the public, farming, family ties, legal matters (such as wills and estates), taking care of debts, dealing with lawyers, financing, joint money matters, real estate, older people, banishing or binding negativity, and getting rid of bad habits all fall under the charge of Saturn. It’s easy to see why “Saturday’s child works hard for his living.”

Saturday’s angels are Cassiel, Machatan, Uriel, and Orifiel. Cassiel is the angel of solitudes and tears. He is one of the rulers of the planet Saturn and occasionally appears as the angel of patience. Cassiel links himself to dragon energy. Regarding Machatan, the only information we get is that he works well with Cassiel and is also a power of Saturn. Orifiel is an angel of the wilderness, a ruler of the second hour of the day, and also associated with Saturn.

On Saturday, the hour of sunrise and every eight hours after that are also ruled by Saturn, and that makes these times of the day doubly blessed. These four hours are the strongest four hours for conducting ritual. Check the local newspaper, astrological calendar, or almanac to determine your local sunrise.

Saturday: Even the God needs to relax

Here we come to the only day of the English week which brings a Roman god to our heavenly party. The word Saturday is derived from Saturn, the god of harvest and agriculture. Buying all the food in supermarkets, we can hardly imagine how important this guy was for our distant ancestors.

In Latin, the word for Saturday is Sambata Dies, meaning the Day of Sabbath (sábado in Spanish, sabato in Italian, samedi in French). Sabbath is a Hebrew word for the Day of Rest. It was the last day of the all-in-one-week creation run. A day when the God finally had some relax, lying in the Garden of Eden and curiously waiting for what happens next.

About Dou mou: Dou Mou is the Chinese goddess of the north star. To this day, people invoke Dou Mou to protect spirits of departed loved ones and to safeguard the living from sickness. From her heavenly domain between the sun and the moon, Dou Mou records each birth and death, and she is the patroness of fortune-tellers.

To Do Today: In mid-November, the Chinese celebrate the last of three festivals for the dead. Today they burn clothing for departed loved ones to keep them from death’s chill, along with money and other gifts that the smoke delivers. If there’s someone you’d like to send a message to on the other side, burn it. Dou Mou will transport it to their attention.

Because of today’s focus on death and divination, you might wish to go to a medium today or try a fortune-telling method that uses spirits guides (like the Ouija). The only caution here is to invoke Dou Mou before you proceed, so only spirits that have your best interests at heart will respond. Just as you wouldn’t leave your front door open to strangers, let the goddess stand firmly between you and the spirit realm.

To generate Dou Mou’s protection for your health, wear silver and gold or white and yellow items today (representing the sun and the moon). Or dab yourself with lemon and lime juice for a similar effect.

So Mote It Be

How y’all doing this morning? I hope fine. It is the weekend, you ought to be doing great. Kicked back, relaxed, enjoying your favorite website, lol! I know I had a great time yesterday and that feeling lingers on even today. I don’t know I think it does me good to occasionally let my hair down and act a little goofy. I am beginning to believe the old saying, “all work and no play makes for a very dull witch.” I think about once a month, I will have a goofy spell from now on out. I know one thing it makes you feel good. Heck I ain’t felt this good in a long time.

But I didn’t want to talk to you about how I felt or my monthly goofy spells to come. First, I wanted you to notice that the WOTC has a new tagline, “Standing Together, Shoulder To Shoulder, We Can & Will Accomplish Great Things In The Name of Our Goddess.” I like it but I wanted to know what you think. Do you like it? I know the words didn’t come from me that is for sure. Someone told me yesterday that we all have a little voice that sits on both sides of our shoulders. One is good and the other, not so good. It is up to us to decide which voice we wanted to listen too. He is not a Pagan but he is a wise man. I would like to think one of those voices sitting on my shoulder is the Goddess. I know there are times when I say things or do things, I would never had thought of them by myself. I know the Goddess has to be whispering in my ear at times. I know it is Her when I get one of those “A-HA” moments. Just like the new tagline, I never would have thought of that on my own, I figured the Goddess played a part in that coming to be.

Next, I am still cleaning out my bedroom. As I mentioned to a lady just a minute ago, I never realized the Wheeler organization sent me so much stuff. I have a pile of it yet to go. That means you will be seeing more of my stuff on here for sale. I am not putting it on the store because I am sort of picking about who I send my things too. All of you I consider family. I know you will take care of the items and you will have respect for them. My items are personal to me(even though I never used them) and I want someone of like-mind to have them. Beside Lord M had them build a loft bedroom for me and it is not as big as my old bedroom. That is why I have a pile here and a pile there. I just don’t have the room I use too. I have found several more items and they will be on here soon if not today. Maybe I will have room enough to walk up there before it is over with. I don’t get in the mood to clean until Winter hits. We have had our first snow fall this year and my mind now thinks it is Winter. So it is time to clean! Besides, why keep something that I ain’t using and never will when someone else can enjoy it.

Last but not least and I will hush after this, I want you to do something for me. Nothing major, I swear. On the next post is a blessing for this site and also all of us. When you come to that post, would you stop for a minute and place your hand on your computer screen and say that blessing while touching your screen. I want the WOTC to have a new beginning and I also want the Goddess to shine Her blessings down on each of us. This is something that I have never asked any of our other sites to do. I feel like the WOTC needs this at this time. We are on a growing spurt, we are reaching more people and having more new members join us each day. I feel like we are truly blessed by the Goddess. I feel like if we all do this, then it will add energy and power to our commitment to the Goddess or the Divine(whichever you prefer). With you adding your energy to that blessing, we will grow and spread the word of our Goddess like never before. You know as well as I do, the world is in a horrible shape. Now is our time, it is time for us to act for the betterment of mankind and our Mother Earth. If we don’t then who will? No one will. The people on this planet are seeking answers, we know the answer to their questions. The God and Goddess are the answer they are seeking. Truthfully, mainstream religion has failed them. They are looking for another direction, we are that direction. We have to make it known we are here and our God and Goddess are the answer. People have turned away from the Gods of Old that is why the world is in such a shape. If you were a God or Goddess and people had just forgotten about you or forsaken you, would you care what happened to them. I don’t believe so. We have to show them that the old Gods & Goddesses are still very much alive and willing to help. All they have to do is ask. Please take a moment to say the blessing, got time during the day say it again. You know as well as I do things have to change, we were given the power to make change happen. It is up to us to spread the word and our teachings throughout the world. To let the world know, that our Gods and Goddesses are very much alive, they are no myth or ancient tale, they are ready and willing to help, all they have to do is ask.

stuff keeps showing up. I know you are going to think I am a horrible housekeeper but really, I’m not. It is just items that Red Wheel sent me and it didn’t interest me, I put it in a pile. Now it is a rather big pile. I ran across a book last night, I know you will love. I have the huge hardback edition of it and I absolutely loved it till I met the author one time. After that meeting, well let’s say I ain’t that crazy about her work anymore. But it is a good book, she did a lot of research into writing it and it has some fantastic spells, tips, potions & a lot more. I should mention since I saw who the author was, I never even thumbed through the pages. It is in super mint, new condition.

This book is “The Big Book of Practical Spells, Everyday Magic that Works,” by Judika Illes, author of The Encyclopedia of 5,000 Spells (that is the one I have, it is a huge hard back book). This book is a paperback book. It is a nice size to slip into your purse or if you are a man, easy to store. Here is the description on it…….

Oh, I found two books, perhaps more, that are going also. Heck I need the space! Live in a loft, you need all the space you can get, let me tell ya’.

I hate to keep driving you crazy, who am I kidding, no I don’t, lol! Anyway, before we start back to work, I decided to do a little cleaning in my bedroom. I don’t know how it happened or how it ever even got started but….I occasionally receive free merchandise from a publishing company called Red Wheel ∕ Weiser. Just out of the clear blue they send me stuff and I end up sticking it in a pile to look at later.

I have been sent several books which none of them interest me and this is the first set of Tarot cards I have ever received from them. I am not a Tarot card reader, I am a Rune reader. So the deck has no appeal to me and is taking up space on my bed. I would like to clean it off so stuff won’t fall off and knock Kade in the head at night. I know he will be glad if I get rid of some of this stuff. This is coming straight from my home, I opened it once, looked at it and put it back in the box. It is brand new. It comes in this little nifty book binder. I guess I am describing it right. But it all fits into this book binder and you can sit it on your shelf at your home.

So this is the first thing I am getting rid of, don’t worry, I am several more books from them, one I know you will be particularly crazy about, it is about Santa Muerte, Voodoo in other words. But I am tired of dusting all this stuff. So help me out, buy it, get it out of my house. Please!!!!!

The last couple of days, I have been hurt, angry and basically acting like a spoiled little child. I admit it. During that time, I have also been talking to the Goddess. Whether you believe in the Goddess or not, that is up to you. Our nice little talk when something like this…..

“I am sorry Goddess, I have let you down. I have been put through hell for the last two years and each time, I have managed to bounce back. First, there was the horrible truck accident that took one of my familiars and almost killed me. Next, there was a man who tried to burn me alive, I was in the hospital for several weeks and I bounced back. Then some where in the midst of all of that, my best friend was killed in an automobile wreck. I bounced back from that. No, I didn’t, I still cry when I think about losing Mystie. One of her boys remind me so much of her and I thank you for bringing them in my life. The point of this whole conversation, Goddess, is to tell you I am sorry. I have let you down. I have no more bounce left in me. I have done everything in the book I can think of to keep my promise to you and I have let you down. I have failed in my promise to you that I made so many years ago. The promise that I would spread your word and tell the truth about your religion. I can’t do it anymore. I don’t have the means and it really seems like I am the only one trying. I know others say they want the same thing I do but I don’t see it. It seems like I am the only one fighting an up hill battle to get your word out. I am embarrassed. I feel humiliated and I sincerely apologize for letting you down. Whatever you have in store for me for breaking my word to you, I am ready because I deserve it. I can’t do it by myself anymore, I can’t and Almighty Mother I hope you understand.”

Well I got a reply back, whether you want to believe me or not, that is up to you again. The reply when something like this…..

“You are not finished doing my work. You have accomplished so very much and you have so much more to do before your time is up. Swallow your pride. What has happened to the fighter that I know. You use to never give up so easily. Now you are going to let it all go without even a fight. What is wrong with you? Your work is over when I say it is over. Get yourself together and get back out there and fight. You have always fought for what you truly believed in and you are going to stop now. Whether you think so or not, there are others out there that depend on you every day. You give them strength, you give them comfort and you give them hope for a better world. This is not all about you, Kit. It never has been. It is about you being my servant and spreading my word and doing my work. You have a tendency to forget that. Now swallow your pride and your humility and get up off your butt and get back out there and fight. Fight for what you believe in.”

The conversation when on and basically the Goddess told me I was on a pity trip. Maybe it is a pity trip but after fighting for so many years, you get tired. I told her I needed the energy and the hope to continue. I believe she granted that request. I am not going to give up that easily anymore. I am going to learn to swallow my pride and when I need help ask for it. One person cannot accomplish what the WOTC was meant to accomplish. The Goddess told me there are other out there that believed the way I do, if there are, we need your help. She told me to spell it out to you and I am going too…..we need monthly donors to keep the WOTC afloat. It doesn’t have to be a huge sum, just $5.00 a month would help out greatly. You know my circumstances and I hope you understand I have carried the WOTC and the weight of the world on my back for several years now. With the Goddess’ help I have always found a way to keep the WOTC going. Now the WOTC needs your help. I need your help to take some of the burden off of me. All I am asking is for a few of you to become monthly donors to the WOTC. Winter is coming on and it is one of the roughest times of the year, not only for us but for you as well. I know that. If you want the WOTC to continue, then we need your help. The donor wall is going back up. Become a monthly donor and we will put your name on it. Do a one time donation and we will put your name on it.

The Goddess did make me realize that this isn’t about me anymore. It is about Her and continuing to spread her word. To reach out to the world and let the world hear Her truth. I guess humility comes right along with that or so She told me. Don’t be afraid to ask when you need help. The WOTC reaches around the world. We are the only organization that can do that. Do you realize how many people hear what we have to say every day? How what we have to say affects their lives and their way of thinking. The world needs hope now more than ever, the Goddess is the hope. We have to continue her message, no matter what and no matter what the cost to me might be. I made a vow to Her and I intent to keep it one way or the other. If you believe as I do and you want Her work to continue and for us to continue to spread her word across the planet, then help us. I don’t give a damn if I have to eat a bologna sandwich for Thanksgiving. She made me realize that in this fight, we all have to make personal sacrifices. I have accepted that. But I will not accept the WOTC going down without a fight. She has given me renewed hope and strength and I will fight to keep it going as long as possible. I finally realized I am not what’s important, the Goddess is. She is worth fighting for and I intent to fight to my dying day.

After I talked to the Goddess and got my head on straight, I got a phone call from Lady Beltane yesterday. As you know Lady Beltane is the leader of Coven Life. After listening to her message, I realized there is a lot more at stake than just losing the WOTC. She told me if I put our domain up for sale to put Coven Life’s domain up for sale as well. She said she didn’t know who or what would purchase our domain and she didn’t want anything to do with it unless I was over the WOTC.  Lady Beltane is a good friend, she is more than a friend, she is my sister. Then I believe after listening to her message is when I got Goddess smacked again. I tell you one thing getting Goddess smacked isn’t any fun. I was told, “You never stopped to think how much there is to lose if the WOTC goes, have you?” “Stop and think for once in your life, stop and think about what all will be lost if you give up.” By that time I had already made my mind up that I wasn’t going to give up. I can’t there is way too much to lose if I do.

No words can describe how bad I feel for you. I wish I could do more to help you keep WOTC but you know I won’t have a job once mt know heals. I do not mind at all you posting about why I started charging for the novice and adept courses. Hopefully, it will be enough when all the personal income I have is my small disability check to keep Coven Life going. I ask the Lord and Lady for a miracle for you to be able to keep WOTC going.

The reason I wanted you to read it is to prove my point. These site are expensive to run. We can’t do it by ourselves, we need your help. We need for some of you to become monthly donors or at least make a one time donation. We need enough to get us through the Winter. Whether you make that donation to the WOTC or Coven Life, I don’t care. Both sites are doing the Goddess’ work. Lady B is training future witches. Without her, where do you think those individuals would be? The Dark side of the Craft is always waiting for the new comers to come to the Craft. Why? To lure them down that Path. No telling how many individuals Lady B has stopped that from happening too. Her work is important and so is ours.

If you want both our work to continue then I humbly ask that you make a donation so we can cover our operating expenses. Don’t depend on just one person doing it, help us out. We don’t like asking for money but I don’t like losing everything we have accomplished so far either. We are one of the oldest and well established sites on the internet. I am doing as suggested, swallowing my pride and asking for your donations to keep us afloat and help us make it through the Winter. We can’t do it by ourselves. It will take all of us to accomplish what we want to accomplish. Won’t you come and stand with us as we try with all our might to carry on our work. I did hear that some of you went looking for the old witch yesterday. The Commentary Gazette told me they had the highest rate of visitors ever. Those visitors were coming directly from the WOTC. So you do miss me after all, lol!

I wanted to let you know that our domain is now pending sale. It is not one of the happiest days in my life but I have no other choice. Here it is Thanksgiving coming up and I don’t even have a Turkey for the boys’ Thanksgiving this year. In fact, we have hardly any groceries at all and we have a severe snow storm coming this way. I know most of you don’t realize how much it does take to operate a website and a store because you don’t own or operate one. You can ask Lady Beltane and she will tell you I am telling the truth. They are expensive to run to say the least. I hope she don’t mind me telling this but….that is why she went to charging for her lessons to cover her operating expenses.

As you all know I draw a small disability check each month. It doesn’t even cover our expenses at the house. I was borrowing money from PayPal to keep us a float but our sales for this month or so low that I can’t even borrow any money from them. They told me, we were off by $200 before I could get another loan with them. I was counting on that loan for some groceries and a turkey for the boys for Thanksgiving.

I have to admit who or whatever wanted us out of this business has finally won. I can no longer see going hunger, if it was just me, I wouldn’t worry about it. I have went hungry many a day to just keep the WOTC up and running. But now I have two boys to consider and I can’t nor will I let them go hungry. I have lights to keep on at both places, I have water to  keep on at both places and you get the idea. I can’t very well let the lights, water and gas get turned off at the house to keep the WOTC and its store going. If I did what kind of mother would I be?

I have thought long and hard about this. I just don’t know what happened. Everyone kept telling me to hold on, it will get better. It is just this or it is just that. Well it hasn’t gotten any better only worse. With Winter coming on, it will take every penny I can mustard to just keep the house going. I know I have women around me but they are all volunteers. Some of them are in the same boat as I am in. They volunteered to give them something to do during the day or else they are a single family income house. None of us have any money and after talking to them and explaining to them the situation, they agreed it was time to sell the domain.

The domain won’t come up for sale for a few days perhaps in that length of time, if the WOTC is meant to be a miracle will happen. Yeah right. I don’t depend on miracles anymore. I have gotten myself in this mess and now I have two boys who are going to suffer for it. I took them in and told them I would give them a place to live, food to eat, clothes to wear and anything else they needed. Right now, I am struggling just to feed them. It just boils down to what I think is more important the boys or this site. I love this site and I love the boys. But the site doesn’t require food to live or a place to sleep at night, the boys do.

I hate to do it but like I said the sales at the store are horrible. There are no donations coming in here, so what other choice do I have. We have had a good run. We are one of the oldest Pagan/Witchcraft site on the internet. I guess our run is over. Or else that miracle will occur before the domain goes up for sale. Either way, I look at it this way, whatever happens it is meant to happen.

I don’t like to complain but I wanted you to know why I had made my decision to sell our domain. How would you like to look at two boys on Thanksgiving morning and tell them there is no turkey and dressing for Thanksgiving dinner? I know I don’t want to but it seems that I am going to have too.

I want you to know that I have enjoyed my time with all of you and keep your fingers crossed perhaps that miracle will come through for us. Then I can stop the sale of our domain. But if the miracle doesn’t come through then the sale will go on as planned.

I have got to scrap up the money now to run to the store and try to get us some food in here to eat before the snow storm hits. Remember no matter what happens, I will always love you and consider you part of my family.
