Yellow paper or card stock
A gold marker or ink pen
First pentacle of the Sun
This simple rite is best performed at high noon on Sunday. Inscribe the first pentacle of the Sun on the yellow paper using the gold marker. Cut the pentacle out and hold it toward the sun. Feel the power and energy of the sun flower through you and into the pentacles you chant:

This day is sacred to the Greco-Roman God Apollo, who embodied the qualities most admired by ancient Greek society. ety. Associated with human intellect, musical harmony, religious purity, and male beauty, he was considered to be “the most Greek of the Gods.”
Apollo personified the Greek male. Annually on his day, 17-year-old males were initiated and welcomed into the community.
The giving of advice was related to Apollo through the giving of prophecy. Inscribed on the wall at Delphi (the most famous of all Greek oracles) are two of his most memorable proverbs: “Nothing In Excess” and “Know Thyself ” In addition to Delphi, Apollo’s second-most important sanctuary was the tiny Aegean island of Delos, believed to be the place of his birth. As a primary God of the Greeks, Apollo oversaw human religious purification and spiritual atonement. He was considered to be a patron of medicine and the lord of music.

The word Wednesday is reminiscent of the Norse wind god Wodin, which is referenced in the popular rhyme verse “Wednesday’s child is full of woe.” This does not mean that those born on this day are full of sorrow or trouble. To be full of Woden (Wodin) means to be full of wind, to be spirited. Woden was such a powerful pagan god that the German church fathers changed the name of his day to Mittwoch, meaning midweek, in an attempt to exorcise his influence.
In the Spanish word for Wednesday, miercoles, we clearly see its connection to Mercury. Under the guidance of Mercury; Wednesday is a day of swift activity, communication, correspondence, and phone calls. This is a good day for journalists, writers, poets, bargaining, hiring employees, and visiting friends.

The distant world glows at magnitude 7.9, so you’ll need binoculars or a telescope to spot it. Fortunately, it lies near a brighter star that will help guide you. Look for the planet 0.4° south-southeast of 4th-magnitude Lambda (l) Aquarii. You can confirm a sighting of Neptune through a telescope, which reveals the planet’s 2.3″-diameter disk and blue-gray color.
• The Moon reaches apogee, the farthest point in its orbit around Earth, at 6:06 p.m. EDT. It then lies 252,235 miles (405,933 kilometers) from Earth’s center.

• Brilliant Mars passes 1.0° due north of the 2nd-magnitude double star Delta (d) Scorpii this evening. Binoculars or a telescope at low power will afford the best views of this conjunction.

• Although Saturn will reach opposition and peak visibility two weeks from today, observers will be hard-pressed to see it as inferior this week. The ringed planet rises shortly after 9 p.m. local daylight time and appears highest in the south around 2 a.m. Saturn shines at magnitude 0.1 and stands out against the relatively dim background stars of southern Ophiuchus. If you target the beautiful world through a telescope, you’ll see its 18″-diameter disk surrounded by a ring system that spans 42″ and tilts 26° to our line of sight.

• The Moon looks completely illuminated all night as it reaches Full phase at 5:14 p.m. EDT. You can find our satellite rising in the east around sunset and peaking in the south at 1 a.m. local daylight time. The Moon passed 6° due north of Mars during the afternoon hours, and those two form a dramatic quadrilateral with Saturn and the 1st-magnitude star Antares throughout the night.

• Mars lies opposite the Sun in our sky today as it reaches peak visibility for 2016. The Red Planet appears low in the southeast as darkness falls and grows more prominent as the evening wears on and it climbs higher. The world shines at magnitude –2.1, brighter than it has been since 2005. When viewed through a telescope, the planet’s ocher-colored disk spans 18.4″ and shows subtle dark markings along with a whitish north polar cap. The Red Planet actually will come closest to Earth eight days from now, when its disk will swell to 18.6″ across. You are what you eat as the old saying goes. Now, in almost any circumstance, I would entirely agree with this statement; however, there is one additional point I like to bring up as a side-note to this and that is applying that old adage little by little every day.
Nutrition – is a hallmark of humanity. Without good nutrition, we are nothing without our health. We cannot grow, live, or be ourselves among each other unless we are functioning well on a basic level. If you are sick all the time, are you living well? Nutrition can play a vast role in this, among many things. In addition, it can affect not just your physical but your mental health. I personally favor eating a more raw natural diet and will speak on this much, but there will be some discussion as to classically cooked meals as well.
Beauty – speaking of mental, here is one aspect that affects any one of us (and I am not just looking at teenagers here). How we see ourselves, and how we at least think we are seen by others plays a subtle or sometimes prominent factor in our everyday lives. We like to express who we are, and if what we wish to “say” isn’t “showing” as we desire, it causes anguish, doesn’t it? We wish to look ourselves as much as be ourselves, no matter what gender or race. Am I right 🙂
Nutrition & Beauty go hand-in-hand on so many things, so much so I thought to dedicate an entire primary page to this foundational topic. Feel free to comment in any one of the articles below on your thoughts concerning these all natural suggestions. Bath fizzies are infinitely easier to make, than the Internet recipes call for. Sure, you won’t have a fancy little ball that floats around the tub, with you and looks like a stomach antacid as it dissolves in the water. But, what you will have is a nice soak with somewhat fizzy, scented water.
Ingredients:
Baking Soda
Your favorite essential oil, herbs or vanilla food flavoring
Put as much baking soda as you think you would like, into a glass bowl (a cereal bowl will be just fine) Add herbs or oils/flavoring (as much as you like…just make sureto not make the baking soda soggy if you are adding liquids!) and stir until mixture is thoroughly mixed together.
Sprinkle/add to your bath and enjoy!
If you made a dry mixture and have extra left over, save it for your next bath! Put the mixture in a glass, cork topped bottle (yes, I refer to them a lot!) and save for your next bath.
