I hope y’all still remember us……

I was going to tell you about our experience with the flu, but forget it. I have never been so sick in my life and it is a nightmare I really don’t want to relive. I just hope and pray if you have it, you make a speedier recovery than we did. If you don’t have it, stay in, don’t go out in crowds, better yet bars the windows and locks the doors.

My daughter kept trying to get me to go to the Emergency Room and I told her I wasn’t going. This area is in wide-spread epidemic mode for the flu. I didn’t want to take the boys to the E.R., and them come down sick. Didn’t do any good they came down with it too. My daughter got mad and asked me, “where I wanted to be buried at?” She is a nurse practitioner and she has good intentions, just a mother who is hard-headed as a bull, lol! I would say the flu drama is over but I have talked to people who say they have had the flu and then had it again. If that happens, I am going for a long walk or I should say crawl off a short pier. I believe if I got the flu again, I would jump or just roll in. Even the poor dog came down with something.

Hopefully, we are all on the road to recovery now. Nobody has a fever in a few days and we are all suppose to be at work today. So we will see how that goes. The first one that comes in and sneezes, I am running her/him out the door with the broom. Seriously, if you ain’t had the flu yet, consider yourself extremely lucky and I hope and pray you don’t get it.

Well I am going to go and see if I can remember what we do each day and we will be back with you shortly. Till then…

Stay Healthy & Well,

Love ya,

Lady A

  1. Hi Sis,

I’m glad you all are better! I try to watch over WOTC but I know your readers look forward to your daily divination and other posts more than me just putting up one little thing.

  2. Ugh, I had it twice one year…WITH the flu shot. 🤦🏼‍♀️ It truly is miserable. I’ve heard good things about elderberry syrup, so I keep it on hand. Hope you get & stay well. ❤️

    1. Twice in one year, didn’t want to hear that. I am hoping this is the only time we have it this year. But they say we are in epidemic stage right now. So really I am scared to open the window. I know there is another flu bug just waiting to get back in. I will have to remember the Elderberry syrup, good suggestion, thank you. It is great to hear from you today.

    1. Good grief, if the flu lasted that long, they would just have to bury me. This year everything is going around. Never seen a winter like this, so full of illness. We need a good cold snap to kill all the bugs and viruses out. I sincerely hope you don’t catch that virus up there. I know in New York they said a measles out break is going on right now. So please stay healthy and avoid crowds if at all possible. It is great to hear from you today, Terri.

  3. Yeah it’s only 29F here today. Hopefully it will stay below freezing for at least a week. Which will hopefully kill off all the nasty viruses running rampant around here. I think I’m going to stay tucked inside until spring or at least as much as I can. Also going to war a heavy scarf around my nose and mouth if I have to go anywhere.

    1. It was 60 degrees here, now it is 14 degrees. Talking about a shock to the system. I got out in the weather yesterday when the temp was dropping. It was like ice going right through you. I wish this damn weather would make its mind up. We desperately need the cold snap, we have a horrible stomach virus now. What next, I hate to ask. You have a tendency to get sick very easily. So stay in and out of crowds, please. Hell we both don’t need to be sick at the same time. It seems like I get something then you do or the other way around. Let’s see if we can both stay healthy for a bit, what’cha say? Got to run.

    1. I know what you mean, I am so ready for Spring myself. We have been having days in the 60’s. Now the temp has dropped to 14 degrees in one day. No wonder we all have the flu or whatever it is going around. They announced on the News last night, now there is a horrible stomach bug going around. I know I would love for Spring to pop up and stay but we need a cold snap to kill out all the bugs & viruses around here. Not to mention, if we don’t have one, we will be ate up by mosquitoes this Summer. We have several ponds around us plus we live about 5 miles from a major river. So no cold weather to wipe some of those biting maniacs out, we can’t even get outside at night, thanks to them. It is one of those situations, you are darned if the weather does, you are darned if the weather doesn’t. The snow they are calling for here is suppose to be followed by rain, hopefully! But our weather people don’t know their rump from a hole in the ground. It is great to see you this morning. Please stay in and stay safe.

  4. Being autoimmune, I’ve had the 1 and 5 year flu vaccine along with everyone vaccine know to man. lol I was told last week that I have pneumonia of all things. I can’t win for losing sometimes. lol We live in one of the wettest places in Va so I feel your pain about the bug attacks…..I hope everyone is still on the mend. Have an awesome day!

    1. I believe it. I took my first and last flu shot ever this year. Ever since I took that shot, I have had something. I believe they brewed up a bad batch of flu medicine this year. Unfortunately, it just ain’t me either. Everyone I have talked to who have took the shot has been sick or in the hospital afterwards. No more shots for me, EVER! Living in VA, I would imagine you have some big biting critters over there. I know last year, I was out walking the pup and I swear I had a mosquito as big as your index finger land on my arm. I liked to have sh*t! The bad thing about it, I knocked it off of me and it came right back. We ended up cutting our walk short and came home. It is pitiful. I feel for you living in VA. I have always heard that there are parts over there that have alligators. I hope that isn’t true for your sake. We are still on the mend and hopefully we stay that way. I hope you stay healthy and well. Let’s start counting down the days to Spring!

      1. I say I totally agree with keeping outsiders outside far away from me. It’ll be easy for me since I have to test my knee as much as possible until Tuesday since I strained muscles and irritated the surgical site when I twisted somehow Wednesday afternoon. At least I hope I have fewer distraction to work on our newsletter setting it up and my parts to included. Stay in and away from people too. Let’s see if we can get through until spring without either of us getting sick again. Deal? Or we’ll both need those bubbles…LOL
Love us sis and stay healthy,
