The Witches Digest for October 4th
(Part 4, Your Daily Tarot Cards, Runes, Influences and Much More)
Your Personal Daily Tarot Card
Judgment embodies those forces which require us to be accountable for our actions. With Judgment truths are revealed, mysteries are unraveled and responsibility is assigned. Judgment unveils outcomes and marks the ends of things. While it is a time to properly place guilt, it is also a time for atonement and forgiveness. Ultimately the process of Judgment should lead to freedom from errors made in the past and a fresh start with a clean slate. To that end Judgment actually promises the start of a new journey on which we can apply what we have learned from our past.
Your Daily Love Tarot Card for Today
Do some magic of your own today, like penetrating facades and gaining insights into dubious stories that lack credibility. Hold onto your heartstrings until you know you haven’t met a fickle flirt or a trickster. The Magician makes us see what we want to see regardless of the reality of a situation. He draws us in because we love secrets and mysteries, but who wants to live with them day after day and year after year?
Your Past Life Tarot Card for Today
When you stand up for other’s rights you can stir deeply-seated past life memories in yourself. The origin of these feelings might come from having a past life experience of your own family’s struggle. At this time the civil rights leader inside you has come to the forefront. This spirit is more afraid of not standing up for what he or she believes in then fearful of what retribution one could face. This incarnation comes with an inner strength that is founded in compassion.

Life is a bit hard to piece together lately if you’ve drawn out a 3 in opposition like you have now. Jigsaw puzzles can be fun and relaxing. They help pass the time. It is messy when your life is in a thousand pieces. You have pieces missing, so the picture is incomplete. Change your diet. Drink more water, detox, exercise. Do some breathing techniques, journal. Confide in a good friend about your challenges. You are overdue for a purge of the toxins in your life. You will find what you need in unexpected ways.

Also, be sure to watch for Mars and Venus during their close conjunction on the morning of October 5. Click here for more info. And know that you can see these two worlds – still close – throughout this weekend.
And – if you’re up early watching for Venus and Mars – take a moment to see the sky’s brightest star, Sirius, on these October mornings. This star is so brilliant that you can easily see it on a moonlit night in from a light-polluted city. Click here to find out when Sirius will rise tonight from your part of the world.
Early this morning, looking southeast, I saw a beautiful star, bright and multicolored … Can you identify it for me?
And Paula wrote:
This morning two of us got up early. We found a pulsing star straight down the sky below Orion’s Belt. It was pulsing the colors of green, yellow, blue and red like a strobe light. I will search for it every morning as it was so enchanting.
This star is enchanting, so much so that – every year, beginning in Northern Hemisphere autumn – we get many, many questions about a multicolored star twinkling in the southeastern to southern sky after midnight. This star typically turns out to be Sirius, which is in the constellation Canis Major the Greater Dog and is sometimes called the Dog Star.
Sirius is now rising in the southeast in the hours after midnight and can be found in the south at dawn. Notice that a line from Orion’s Belt points to Sirius.
Sirius appears to flash different colors when it’s low in the sky. Really, all the stars are flashing different colors, because light is composed of all the colors of a rainbow, and the journey through our atmosphere breaks starlight into its component colors via refraction. But you don’t notice the colors of the other stars much, because they’re not as bright as Sirius, which is the brightest star visible from anywhere on Earth.
Since our atmosphere is causing the light to break into its colors, and since Sirius is often seen low in the sky now (where you are peering at it through a thicker layer of atmosphere than when it’s overhead), the flashing colors of Sirius are very obvious. When Sirius is higher in the sky – which it is close to dawn in the month of October – or in the evening sky in January and February – you’ll find that Sirius shines with a steadier, whiter light.
So, on these October mornings, watch as Sirius winks at you in the wee hours before dawn!
Bottom line: We get many questions about a bright, colorful, twinkling star on these October mornings. It’s the star Sirius in the constellation Canis Major, brightest star in the sky. The bright planet Venus is also up before dawn now. But you’ll know Sirius, because Orion’s Belt always points to it

Moon Diary: Fighting Talk. Full Harvest Moon in Aries, 5th October 2017
by Jane Lyle
A dynamic warrior of a full Moon rises at 12 degrees of fiery Aries, the Ram, on 5th October. It’s active, stirring, challenging – and excites impulsive words and actions, highlighting them in various ways over the next two weeks.
With the full Moon opposite Mercury, there’ll be much fighting talk and unfiltered speech – much of it highly emotional, and focused on individual points of view. The tension between the Sun in diplomatic Libra, and Moon in feisty Aries is a bit like the tension between sensible adult and exuberant child. Certainly it symbolises the tension between law and order versus anarchy, anger, and a powerful need for self-expression – with the emphasis on the word ‘self’.
Libra is the sign of partnerships, while Aries – first sign of the Zodiac – is the new-born self, the sign that says ‘I am’. Some relationship reshuffles are coming our way – for today Venus, planet of love, art, and money aligns with young warrior Mars.
Venus rules Libra, while Mars rules Aries, where our talkative harvest Moon is rising. Mercury, also in Libra, urges us to communicate – adding to the need to consciously favour tact and charm at this full Moon. But many of us may not be in the mood to listen, or to look before we leap.
Some relationships will come to a head this week, while new ones begin with powerful attractions and a torrent of words and feelings. Currently, we have Sun, Moon, Mercury, Jupiter, Uranus and Pluto in those potent Cardinal signs of Aries, Libra and Capricorn. It’s a lunar initiation moment for our alliances in love, and probably professionally too. Yet this is a hot, action-packed full Moon, and it wants to bring things to a bubbling boil. Challenging times – with the see-saw me-and-you, us-and-them theme repeated in different ways at the next electrifying new Moon in Libra on 19th October.
If you have planets or angles in your natal horoscope at around 10-13 degrees of Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn you’ll feel the energy of this full Moon more than most.
“Do not grieve. Misfortunes will happen to the wisest and best of men. Death will come, always out of season. It is the command of the Great Spirit, and all nations and people must obey. What is past and what cannot be prevented should not be grieved for…. Misfortunes do not flourish particularly in our lives — they grow everywhere.”

A Little Humor for Your Day
The Night Before Crisis
Twas the night befor crisis, and all through the house
Not a program was working, not even a browse.
The programmers were wrung out, too mindless to care,
knowing chances of cutover hadn’t a prayer.
The users were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of inquiries danced in their heads.
When out in the lobby there arose such a clatter,
that I sprang from my tube to see what was the matter.
And what to my wondering eyes should appear,
but a Super Programmer, oblivious to fear.
More rapid than eagles, his programs thet came,
and he whistled and shouted and called them by name.
On Update! On Add! On Inquiry! On Delete!
On Batch Jobs! On Closing! On Functions Complete!
His eyes were glazed over, his fingers were lean,
from weekends and nights in front of a screen.
A wink of his eye, and a twist of his head,
soon let me know I had nothing to dread.
He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,
turning specs into code, then turned with a jerk.
And laying his finger on the ENTER key,
the system came up and worked perfectly.
The system was finished, the tests were concluded.
The client’s last changes were even included!
And the client exclaimed with a snarl and a taunt,
“It’s just what I asked for, but not what I want.”
—And that’s all folks!
