A Self Purification Spell

A Self Purification Spell

The purification of self is a way to remove the accumulation of all negative things that happened during the day and to prepare for the work to come.

Before ritual work, you have to change your frame of mind from the everyday mundane world. Here are a couple of ways to do this.

Incense:
You may use incense in the common stick form or in what is called a smudge stick. This is a small bundle of incense. The incense is lit and is passed around the body, but not too close to the hair (fire hazard). As you pass the incense around your body, concentrate
on the smoke passing through you. Invision all the negativity and the excess baggage of the day leaving you as the smoke rises around you. When you feel cleansed, put out the incense. You will need a container to put out the smudge stick. A terra cotta saucer filled
with sand is ideal.

Ritual Baths:
A ritual bath is a great way to shed the day and concentrate on the ritual to come.

Supplies:
–White candles, for Spirituality and Higher Self, Salt, Herb or Herbs for Purification, Candle Snuffer.

Run a bath of very warm water. As the water is running light the white candles. Use as many as you wish. Three is an appropriate number as it represents the three aspects of the Goddess.

As you light a candle think or recite aloud:
“I light this candle in truth and peace”.

Repeat with each candle.

While the water is running, add a small amount of salt into the water, then add the herb or herbs of your choice.

Step into the water and slowly sink down into the tub. Relax and feel the water covering your body. Let the day and all negativity be drawn into the water.

Concentrate on letting go and moving to the positive. Wash slowly. Turn the bath into its own ritual. Think or say aloud :

” All negativity is flowing out of me into the water. I am pure for the work to come.”

Take as long as you need.

When you feel you are clear and relaxed step out of the tub and drain the water. Watch the water flow down the drain.Envision all the negativity and the day behind you flowing down the drain with the water.

Dry yourself slowly, deliberately. As you snuff out the candles, think or say aloud:

“I leave this bath in truth and peace.”

You are now ready for the ritual to come.

Draconic House protection

Draconic House protection

by Kerowyn J’Karrah SilverDrake, 1994

The purpose of this ritual is to cleanse your personal space of unwanted energies, spirits, emotions, etc. and then shield it from “re-infestation.” It’s generally a good idea to do this ritual at least once a year, but it can be done anytime you feel there is a need for it. It should definitely be done before moving into a new home, or after remodeling your present home as any structural modifications will break any already established protective seals. It is a pretty standard magical format used in a variety of different traditions.

Needed Items: 1) a nice bell or chime 2) purification incense or sage smudge stick (if you use a smudge stick, also use a heavy, *clean,* preferably new ashtray lined with sand to place it on) 3) small hand fan 4) protection incense 5) small, sturdy tray table if you are doing more than one room 6) small hand bell or chime 7) a consecrated string of bells to hang on your inner door knob of each exterior leading door if doing an entire house or apartment. 8) a dish of salt water 9) Normal altar equipment If you are just doing a single room, Cast a formal Circle and “push” the Circle’s perimeter so that it matches the exact dimensions of your room. If you will be moving about your entire dwelling, you won’t be casting a formal Circle. You should, however, still call the Dragons of the Quarters, invite your Dragon companion(s). You should also be sure that the final room has an outside exit. If you are in an apartment and your main door leads to a hallway, make sure there is an open window to the outside available in the last room you intend to cleanse.

The Ritual:

Step 1: Stand for a moment and commune with those whom you have called to assist you to let them know what you are planning on doing. When you feel ready say:

Dragons of Power, Dragons of Light! Dragons of Wisdom, Dragons of Might! Lend me your magic, lend me your aid! Lend me your guidance as this spell is made!

Step 2: Hold your hands over the salt water and say:

As salt dissolves in water, so too shall the hold of any unwelcome and unwanted influences and forces that may be attached to my place, my property or my person! In the name(s) of (deity) and my Dragon allies, and by my will so mote it be!

If you are going to be doing multiple rooms, place the water bowl, wand, purification and protection incenses and burner (or smudge stick and ashtray) and fan on the tray and set it all by the door of the room you are currently working in.

Step 3: pick up the purification incense or smudge stick and walk around the room , fanning the smoke to be sure it reaches all the corners, in any closets, and behind/under the furniture, etc. Visualize the smoke driving all the unwanted stuff into the burning perimeter of the Circle to be consumed by Dragon Fire. Trace a pentacle before each door, window and mirror (also: vents, drains, fireplace openings, etc.) with the incense to seal it. As you move about the room say:

By Dragon magic and the power of Fire and Air, I banish for all time any unwelcome or unwanted energies, forces and influences from this space! Let this place be Purified and sealed!

If you are doing multiple rooms, start at the door and drive drive the stuff before you as you circle the room and then out the door into the next room. Seal the door with a pentagram to keep the stuff from getting back in.

Step 4: Return to your work station and pick up the bell. Following the same path as before, ring the bell continuously as you walk the room, paying special attention to the door, windows and mirrors. Visualize the sound of the bell driving any goop that may have escaped the smoke either into the Dragon Fire of the Circle’s boundary or out the door (don’t worry about the seal already at the door… it’s one-way: bad stuff goes out but can’t come back in) you started from.

The Witches Magick for the Sixth Day of the Storm Moon – Creating A Dream Crystal

Egyptian Comments & Graphics

CREATING A DREAM CRYSTAL

Dreams provide a great way for influencing your waking world, in particular your magical patterns and spells. By creating a dream crystal, you can use the power of the crystal while dreaming and awake to bridge the gap between your waking and dream worlds. This gives it double the power , making it an invaluable magical tool.

To perform this spell, you will need a white candle, a smudge stick, and a clear quartz crystal.

Begin by lighting the candle and dedicating it to a helpful goddess or god. Light the smudge stick in the candle flame, and blow on it until it begins to smoke. Be sure to catch any hot ashes in a fireproof dish or pan. Carefully hold the crystal above the smudge stick so that the stone becomes immersed in the smoke. Keep it there until it feels cleared of all energies.

Place the crystal in front of the lit candle, and get comfortable while beginning to examine every aspect of the crystal. Look at the way the light shimmers off the crystal’s various facets and inner inclusions. Pick up the crystal with your hands and turn it around, looking at each of its sides. Make a mental note of what it feels like, for example, its hardness, whether it’s smooth or rough. Next, close your eyes and visualize the crystal. Open your eyes and look at the crystal again before again closing your eyes and imagining the crystal with vivid detail. Continue doing this until the image of the crystal is firmly fixed in your mind’s eye.

As you lie down to go to sleep , hold the crystal in your receiving hand (left hand if you are right-handed, right hand if you are left-handed). Imagine the crystal shining clearly in your mind. Repeat the following mantra:

This is my magical dream crystal

Wherever I go in dream, it is always with me.

As you move into the dream world, take the crystal with you. Whenever you look down at your hands while you are dreaming, your dream crystal will be there, filling you with its magical energy. Also, when you see your crystal in your dreams, you will know you are dreaming. This is a simple way to learn lucid dreaming , which is being aware of the fact that you are dreaming when you are dreaming.

Magickal Activity for Sacrifice to the 7 Stars Day – The Willow Wand

Unicorn Comments & Graphics

The Willow Wand

To make the wand: Cut a small branch from a Willow tree. Clean and sand the branch until it is smooth. Use silver paint to inscribe your name in a spiral pattern around the branch.

Use a smudge stick to consecrate your wand. Light the smudge, and pass the wand through its fragrant smoke. This will remove any negative thoughts or vibrations that might have been attached to the branch before you acquired it.

Once the branch has been cleansed you will need to bless it in Callisto’s honor. Place the wand on your altar or on a small table. Hold both of your hands over the wand and speak the following prayer:

“Goddess of the Moon grant to me,
The Willows power of flexibility.
Through your love I shall be warmed
And from this moment be transformed.”

When you feel the need to be more flexible and accommodating, hold your want and repeat the prayer.

Let’s Get Crafty – Making a Smudging Stick

Making a Smudging Stick

Be aware of any dangerous chemical reactions or allergies to the plants being used. If you intend to burn a plant in a smudge stick do your research into the plant first to ensure that what you are burning is not dangerous to your health. Always find out if you are allergic first, and have another person on hand or ready to help you if something goes wrong. Call 911 or the appropriate telephone number if a dangerous condition occurs.

Always be careful of how you burn your smudge stick, ensuring that you do not burn yourself. Always use proper fire preventative measures; place burning objects within or upon the appropriate fire burning apparatus. Be aware that holding the smudge stick within your hands can result in burning your hands.

When wrapping the bundle, you should be careful to wrap tightly enough to hold the stems and leaves in place, but not to cut them.

Humidity is a factor in dry time, ensure that your bundle has dried fully before attempting to burn it.

Ensure that there is no mold/mildew growth upon your bundle before burning it.

~Ingredients~

  • Herb(s) appropriate for the smudging
  • String that will safely burn, such as jute line or cotton string

~Process~

  1. Select your fresh herb from the plant (unless you can get long stems of plants elsewhere).
  2. Cut the plant according to size. Plants which are more leafy should be cut in smaller sections, and those that are less leafy can be cut in larger sections.
  3. Cut the string to a good length, such as five to six feet.
  4. Place the pieces according to like, stems to stems and leafs to leafs.
  5. Wrap string around the base, leaving a few inches of string loose.
  6. Wrap up from stems to leafs, then back again in a crisscross pattern.
  7. After returning to the base, tie the few inches from before to the end of your string.
  8. Trim if necessary to give a uniform look.
  9. Place your bundle in a place where it shall dry.
