Saturn in Scorpio

Now Until Sep 17, 2015

Saturn is the last planet visible to the naked eye. For millennia, it represented the limits of the solar system and came to symbolize time, structure and order. Saturn takes about 29 years to orbit the Sun, spending about two and a half years in each sign of the zodiac.

Saturn is the planet that says “no” but means “yes.” The no comes from Saturn showing us what isn’t working, sometimes in the form of frustrating blockages or delays. But these help us see where we need to put in effort to make concrete changes. Saturn says “yes” as the planet of crystallization that brings energy into matter. Saturn’s presence in a sign of the zodiac shows us where we are likely to meet limits and how to construct something useful.

Serious Saturn in survivalist Scorpio forces us to face the bottom line. Life and death, sex, power and our economic well being can be pushed to the limits during this two-year transit. Concentrating our efforts where they are most needed may require eliminating ideas, activities, objects or individuals that distract us from these essential tasks.

Take account of your desires, even the inappropriate ones. Knowing what you want helps you become a better negotiator in relationships. Being nice is, well, nice but doesn’t touch the depth of emotion associated with Scorpio. Partnerships grow when they are rooted in honesty, especially with ourselves. We can compromise in pursuit of our desires but if we don’t even know what they are, all we’re left with are manipulation and chance.

Getting the most out of our resources is another expression of Saturn in Scorpio. Scarcity could be a collective problem but, ideally, will lead to more efficient systems of production and distribution. Cleaning up toxins in the environment and within our bodies and minds are other healthy expressions of this transit.

How money is handled, especially involving insurance and debt, grows in importance with Saturn in Scorpio. There may be even more abuses in the financial world but that could be what it takes to make some significant reforms. Borrowing for well-defined purposes and with a realistic repayment schedule is an appropriate way to use this cycle.

Sexual repression is a dark side of Saturn in Scorpio. The AIDS epidemic was at a very high level in the early 80s, the last time this transit occurred. Responsiblity for erotic inclinations doesn’t mean that they should be suppressed but rather that we deepen our understanding of them. Tantra, a form of sacred sexuality, teaches us about intimacy that is not possible when we deny this essential part of ourselves. is a Daily Insight Group Site

A Little About November Birth Symbols

  • November Babies

“No spring nor summer’s beauty hath such grace, As I have seen in one Autumnal face.” —John DonneZodiac: Scorpio until November 21 and Sagittarius from November 22

    Gemstone: Topaz, Citrine
Meaning love and affection, the topaz comes in many colors: yellow, pink, purple, orange and a variety of blues. It is believed to bring the wearer strength and intellect. The citrine, known as a “healing quartz,” is this month’s other birthstone. It’s believed to bring vitality and health to the wearer, as well as hope, energy and warmth.

    Flower: Chrysanthemum
A chrysanthemum’s meaning changes depending on its color: red means “I love you,” while white stand for innocence, purity and pure love.

    Tree: Walnut, Chestnut, Ash

November’s birth flower is the chrysanthemum. A red chrysanthemum means “I love you;” a white chrysanthemum means innocence, purity, and pure love; a yellow chrysanthemum means slighted love.

    November Birthstone – Citrine

The birthstone for November is the Citrine. The warm, fiery colors that exude from this precious stone are off the Van Gogh painting of the sunflowers. The name originates from the French word, “citrin”, meaning lemon. It has been found in the palest of yellows to a dark amber. The dark amber citrine, is referred to as Madeira, because of its resemblance to the wine.

Since the beginning of time, man has dug within the earth to find useful tools for it’s survival. In these earlier times, there was a greater connection with the planet and its gifts and the cosmic world. With each advancement and achievement of the human species, we developed tools to dig deeper within the Earth’s crust. At one point we began to dig for treasures or sometimes they were come upon accidentally. With every unearthing of these treasures and gemstones, they were believed to emit a power to its discoverer. They were thought to offer healing and magical powers, strength or protection. Most of these treasures today represent the birthstones for each month of the year in the calendar we are familiar with today, the Gregorian or Western Calendar. As time went on, each stone was believed to represent a specific time or season of the year.

Citrine is a form of quartz and the sister of Amethyst. It is worn to keep evil thoughts from one’s thinking and ward against venomous snakes. It is also a symbol of strength and hope. It is considered to having medicinal qualities used to remedy kidney and urinary complications. Throughout time it has been extensively utilized to improve the function of ones heart and digestive system. The citrine has the power to remove toxins form the body and treat muscular disorders. The vibrant color and “fire” of the citrine has always been symbolic of healing in general, as fire represents power and strength.

Citrine is very scarce, which could be the reason that it is not mentioned until the first century B.C. The Romans were noted as the first to wear it, where they would fashion the stone into a style that is referred to, cabochon. For this style, the citrine first would be polished to a most brilliant shine and then the pieces of the unfaceted stone would be fashioned into their jewels. During the Romantic Period, artisans would utilize the warmth of the citrine to enhance the color gold jewelry.

The alternate birthstone for the month of November is the Topaz.

Here are some interesting facts for this gemstone:

-In Sanskrit, Topaz also means fire

-In the Middle Ages, it healed mental and physical disorders and warded against death

-Romans used it to improve eyesight

-The Greeks believed Topaz to contain the power to make one invisible and increase their strength.

-The most famous of all Topaz is actually colorless, and originally thought to be a diamond. It measures in at 1,680 carats and is named the “Braganza Diamond” that is set in the Portuguese Crown Jewels

A Little About October Birth Symbols

  • October Babies

“There is no season when such pleasant and sunny spots may be lighted on, and produce so pleasant an effect on the feelings, as now in October.” —Nathaniel Hawthorne

Zodiac: Libra until October 22 and Scorpio from October 23

    Gemstone: Tourmaline, Opal
Tourmaline is available in many colors — and many stones are bi-color or tri-color, containing multiple hues. It is often referred to as “the gemstone of the rainbow,” and signifies love and friendship. Opal means “precious jewel.” Like the tourmaline, it’s often multi-hued, and it signifies faithfulness and confidence.

    Flowers: Marigold and Cosmo
The marigold brings a message of undying love. The other October bloom is the cosmo, which symbolizes peace and serenity.

    Tree: Rowan, Maple, Walnut

October’s birth flower is the pumpkin bloom. Just kidding—it’s actually the marigold. Marigolds are often given as a sign of warm or fierce, undying love, or as a way of saying that you’re content with being with the recipient. The other October flower is cosmo, a symbol of order, peace, and serenity.

    October Birthstone – Opal

The Opal is the birthstone of October. The name, “Opal”, means “to see a change in color” and might make one drift off to daydreaming and envision a rainbow following a summer rain. Ancient monarchs treasured the opal mainly for its protective powers. Thus, they were set in into their crowns and worn in necklaces. The opal dates back to prehistoric times and according to Arabic legend, fell from heaven in a flash of lightening.

The Latin word, “opalus”, means precious jewel, and that it is. It contains up to thirty percent water and must be protected from harsh chemicals and heat. If not, they can cause the opal to dry out and may lead to a loss in its luster and cracking. It can also be broken very easily and must be guarded from any knocks or blows. The opal is made up of a non-crystallized silica, that can be found near the earth’s surface, typically in areas where geothermal springs once existed. Opal is mainly found in Australia, where ninety-five percent of the world’s black and white opals are mined. They are also found in Hungary, Brazil, Mexico, the United States and Canada.

For centuries, before time was even recorded, the discovery of precious gems within the Earth’s crust inspired many. With each discovery, humans believed that there was a cosmic connection and energy emitted from these gemstones. As time went on, they became symbolic of certain times within the year. The calendar we are all familiar with today, the Gregorian Calendar or Western Calendar has a stone symbolic for each month of the year. For those offering these gemstones as gifts to their loved ones, they have been believed to possess magical or healing powers, or sometimes seen as a gift offering protection. Each of these precious stones are unique not only in their compositions, but their energies and strengthening powers.

The gift of an Opal symbolizes confidence and faithfulness and can be used to ward off nightmares. They have even been ground and ingested for healing properties to treat issues relating to the eyes. It has also been gifted to those going into battle for protection and utilized to ease child birth. It symbolizes hope, loyalty, happiness, innocence and purity. It should be stated that the most common of all opals, recognized by its pearly iridescent hues of aqua and baby blues and pinks, should be given as a gift to only those born in October, otherwise they can be a token of bad luck. However, lucky for other lovers of the October birthstone opal, the opal ranges in many colors and shades from all over the world. Another form of opal known as fire opal is transparent of orange and red colors with flicks of yellow, but the most valuable are that of the black or gem opals, which showcase one or more colors against a background of black.

    Other Symbols of October:

    October Flower:

The Candula. It is usually associated with grief, sorrow and despair.

    October Birth Trees:

The Rowan, Maple and Walnut. The Rowan tree will guard against enchantment, and was also used in the art of metal divining. The berries of the Rowan tree feeds birds during long winters and have a pentagram shape. This shape is an ancient symbol of protection. Due to the berries shape, it is no surprise that it has also been referred to as the “Witch Tree”.

    Famous People Born in October:

    Zac Effron- October 18, 1987

    Kate Winslet- October 5, 1975

    Suzanne Sommers- October 16, 1946

    Susan Surandon- October 4, 1946

    Jeff Goldblum- October 22, 1952

Your Daily Planet Tracker: Moon In Scorpio, Mar. 9th thru 11th

Moon in Scorpio

Mar 9, 2015 to Mar 11, 2015

Courtesy of the Experts at

I’ve heard that two rutting elk can lock horns for over a day. Of course, humans in a power struggle can easily exceed that, especially during Scorpio’s Moon. Power issues are raised. But what’s likely hidden is the truth about where that power lies. One opponent overthrows another, hoping to capture power. But is it really there? That’s the contemplation this Moontime. Here’s a clue: there’s a treasure house full of the good stuff, just like the fairy tales always said. And you don’t have to steal or envy the ones who seem to have it. All you need is to find your personal key. This Moon says, “Let your intuition lead.” If you’re stuck on something, visualize whatever you’re holding onto eighty years from now. Impermanence seems scary. But like an old snakeskin, after a loss comes something vibrant and new. Celebrate yourself as a passionate, evolving being. is a Daily Insight Group Sight

Your Horoscopes for Tuesday, February 3

Your Horoscopes for Tuesday, February 3

March 21 – April 19
Old habits die hard. Much usually has to do with lack of desire on our part to release ourselves from them. We prefer predictability over possibility. You are being presented with an option now that involves either staying with what is predictable, even if it’s far from ideal in many ways, or taking a risk that involves removing yourself from what has grown familiar and comfortable to something else that has a very big question mark hanging over it in terms of comfort and stability it offers. Yet, it offers much in the way of excitement. That alone might be all you need to move.

April 20 – May 20
In Looney Tunes cartoons, characters wheel a television-looking device into the front of another character and this acts as an X-ray, showing what bizarre item they’ve consumed. Wouldn’t it be handy if such a device existed that could show what thoughts were contained in the heads of others? Wouldn’t it be helpful if we could get an instant snapshot of what someone else was thinking? You might find yourself growing increasingly weary with someone proving difficult to read now but it’s important you don’t treat any cautiousness on their part with suspicion.

May 21 – June 21
There’s an old saying about how we should only fight battles we know we stand a chance of winning. That’s another way of saying we should ‘play it safe’ wherever possible. The sky isn’t suggesting or encouraging your involvement in a battle but it is strongly encouraging you to recognize your limits in a certain area and do only what you’re capable of doing, nothing more. Don’t see this is as taking an ‘easy way out’. See it as being sensible and making the most sensible use of time and abilities.

June 22 – July 22
Slowly but surely, certain facts are emerging that are shedding helpful light on an area of your world where there has been much uncertainty and confusion. You’ve tried your best to piece together pieces of a proverbial jigsaw puzzle and have struggled to see anything resembling a helpful or accurate picture. In the light of new information that has either presented itself recently or is the process of doing so now, you have discovered the reality to a situation has been surprising, to say the least. Embrace and appreciate the fact that you are dealing now with facts, not assumptions.

July 23 – August 22
Your patience is being tested in some way. You’re dealing with one or possibly more volatile and even confused individuals and to say they have different ideas about a shared matter is an understatement. You’re being looked to though in some way for support or guidance. The best support or guidance you can offer now is sensitivity and, if required, sympathy. You needn’t fear losing out in some way or that your kindness will be taken advantage of. In fact, through displaying it, you stand to gain more than you might have. So relax and be supportive.

August 23 – September 22
‘Here’s one I prepared earlier’. TV chefs and children’s presenters making crafts often say such words. They need to accelerate time, therefore they skip straight to what something will look like if those watching do the necessary steps properly. In a similar way, allow yourself to be distracted by an opportunity presenting itself. If you can, then you will discover that what you return to has evolved in a very helpful way. It will have evolved in a way that can be used in ways it wasn’t earlier or will have saved you time in moving forward.

September 23 – October 22
It’s easy for us to ignore ‘the bigger picture’. We get so caught up with here and now or issues that appear to be so demanding in the present that we fail to see how they might be little more than helpful stepping stones for the future. In an area of your world, you appear to have made concerted effort to put a previous episode behind you in the belief that it needs to remain hidden. Expect soon to see how helpful and integral it is to what’s unfolding soon. It had a definite part to play in the greater scheme of things and soon, resentment will be replaced with gratitude.

October 23 – November 21
It’s a case of two heads being better than one. It’s also a case of getting someone on your side in the right way if something wonderful is to be achieved. You can choose to ‘lay down the law’ and make clear you’re not interested in someone else’s opinion and receive from them a half-hearted effort in some way, or you can make clear how willing you are to collaborate and share what needs doing. The latter will result in them being keener to share whatever-it-is with you. The choice is one you’re being presented with now. Working together has to be a better option?

November 22 – December 21
You don’t want grand gestures or lengthy conversations. You just want to know where you stand and to be able to pursue something close to your heart based on the fact that you’re doing so with clarity that doesn’t appear to be forthcoming presently. You’re having to make educated guesses where you would prefer to be pursuing something based on fact or confirmation on some level. You might believe likelihood of something becoming clearer is a long way away but it isn’t. Sooner than you probably think, what currently confuses you will be clearer.

December 22 – January 19
If you know how someone else is likely to react, how does that affect your reaction? Will you handle a sensitive situation more carefully – or does possibility exist that they might react in a way you hadn’t anticipated? You’re in a situation now where you believe you have accurate measure of how a tense discussion could go but the sky insists you ought to prepare for the unexpected and this could have noticeable influence on where the discussion then goes. Take each moment, one step at a time and be willing to deal with whatever arises as it arises.

January 20 – February 18
Think, if you can, of what’s occurring now as the equivalent of a film trailer. You’re being given glimpses into an unfolding situation but little more. What matters, or will matter more soon, is the full story that will emerge soon enough. That’s why you need not focus so intently on what’s happening in the present with the intention of trying to piece together a story that has yet to present itself in full. Relax, here and now. Let time pass before deciding what your next move should be.

February 19 – March 20
Some people are skilled at ‘engineering’ conversations. They know how to start them so they follow a pre-planned route. They then know how to steer the discussion so it ends at another pre-planned destination. This often causes the other person to wonder how on Earth the conversation went the way it did and ended where it did. It also causes them to wonder how they agreed with whatever it was they agreed. Be careful now of someone’s apparent skill to do something similar with you. You’re dealing with an expert. Do what you can to steer the conversation in a way that suits you, wherever possible.

Daily Cosmic Calendar for Tuesday, December 23rd

It is wise to always keep track of void lunar cycles — particularly when they are lengthy, as this void Moon transit through Capricorn continues until 6:53PM (when the lunar orb enters service-oriented Aquarius). In the meantime, you may want to enjoy a whirlpool treatment or soothing hot-tub experience as the Sun makes an inspirational, 72-degree tie with Chiron (2:34AM). You could use the relaxation since Saturn temporarily leaves intense Scorpio (where it has been for the last 2+ years) for Sagittarius (8:35AM). Saturn stays in Sagittarius until June 14, 2015, when it flips back into the end of Scorpio. Saturn’s return visit to Scorpio then continues to September 17, 2015 when it rejoins the beginning of Sagittarius and then staying here until December 19, 2017. All things considered, it is probably better for Saturn to be in fiery, upbeat Sagittarius than in watery, intense Scorpio — but this may not be the case for people born with the Sun or several planets in the sign of the celestial archer. Today is also notable because Mercury unites with Vesta at 11 degrees of Capricorn (5:32PM). Utilize this springboard toward materializing key investment plans once the Moon is safely in Aquarius (6:53PM and afterwards). Be extra cautious regarding primary partnerships tonight as Venus forms an off-kilter, 150-degree tie with Juno (9:31PM). [Note to readers: All times are calculated for Pacific Standard Time. Be sure to adjust all times according to your own local time so the alignments noted above will be exact for your location.]
