Your Ancient Symbol Card for Dec. 18th is Storm

Your Ancient Symbol Card for Today

The Storm

The Storm represents the trouble and discord that creep into our lives from time to time. The storm is represented by a tornado whirling its way across a fertile plain. Tornados are powerful but relatively small, short lived storms, which means that while the turmoil they indicate may be strong it will at least pass quickly. Like the tornado, The Storm is a force outside yourself and beyond your control. During a stormy period you may lose ground. However, knowing one is upon you can certainly help you keep your losses to a minimum, or even turn what might be a disaster into a windfall.

As a daily card, The Storm denotes a time when you should be prepared to face some large challenges in your life. You may find yourself losing more than you gain for awhile. The key to weathering the storm is preparation. You know its coming, so be ready for it and there is a possibility that you can transform a tumultuous event into something good.

The High Priestess Steps Forward to do the Invocation of the God

Come to us Lord of the Hunt, Sacred Herdsman, and Divine Smith.  Put by your
horn, lay aside your crook, stow your hammer, and quit your forge for now.
Wipe your brow, and come find your leisure in the midst of our good company.
Have a seat, put up your feet, and pour yourself a cold draught.  By the virtue of your work have you earned a rest, for well have your cared for the wild beasts and domesticated flocks.  And many a time has your forge burned long into the night with you hard at work creating lightning bolts of such exquisite beauty and terrible power as we have ever beheld.  Join us Great Lord, and indulge yourself to the fullest.  May you know no want in our presence, for thanks to you and the Goddess, we know no want.  We raise our glasses high and toast your greatness. All hail the God of the Wild Magicks.

Witchy Cat Graphics & Comments
To bring rain, stand outside and swing a broom in the air over your head. When a lightning storm blows your way, think about putting your broom on the porch to act as a lightning rod; electricity and lightning are thought to be attracted to brooms. Another way to safeguard a house against strikes involves crossing a spade and a broom outside the main entrance to the house.

Hail to the Spirits of the Flame!

Hail horses stampeding on the sun-drenched plains,
Striking sparks from their hooves!
Hail to the Power of Rage that rises in us,
Hail to the Power of Passion that rises in us,
Hail to the Powers of Will that channels that fire.
Hail to the campfire around which we gather
Ensuring our survival in the cold world.
Hail to the Hearthfire around which we gather
Creating family with our warmth.
Hail to the Bonfire around which we gather
Creating community with our warmth.
Hail to the Flame of Inspiration around which we gather
Linking all the world in our warmth.
Hail to the Spirits of the Flame,
And may they ever bless us with their brief, beautiful lives.

Fire flow, fire flow through me,
Bonfire, brush fire, lightning strike,

Your Ancient Symbol Card for Sept. 20 is Futility

Your Deck of Ancient Symbols Card for Today

Futility

Sadly sometimes our desires lead us down paths which have no end and offer us no chance of achieving the results we want. If we persist we end up like Sisyphus: forever rolling a boulder uphill only to have it roll back downhill before we ever get to the top. Futility suggest the existence of just such a situation–we are chasing a prize that will never be ours. Futility indicates a need to rethink our ambitions and direct our energies towards a goal or goals that can be attained.

As a daily card, Futility implies that you are putting energy into goals that cannot be met. It suggest the need to rethink your desires and possibly find a new goal or goals to chase.

I Wish All My Dear Friends, A Terrific Thursday!

Days Of The Week Comments
Today’s Affirmation for Thursday, March 29th

My intuition is the sensitive radar of the Spirit. With its aid I can fly a true course through any storm.

Today’s Thought for Thursday, March 29th

Our greatest glory is not in never falling but in rising every time we fall.

 Confucius (951 – 479 BCE)

Today’s Meditation for Thursday, March 29th

Emotional Squalls

On your journey through life there will be times when troubled feelings threaten to blow you off course. At such times sit quietly in meditation and be aware of the storm. Watch the waves of negative thoughts and feelings as they wash over you. Accept their presence rather than trying to avoid them. By observing the turbulence, rather than identifying with it, you move into the eye of the storm – the stillness at its center. From this vantage point, watch the storm gradually die down, replaced by the clear blue skies of a relaxed mind.
