In ancient times, our Lord, the Horned One, was (as he still is) the Controller, the Comforter. But men know him as the dread Lord of Shadows, lonely, stern, and just.

But our Lady the Goddess oft grieved deeply for the fate of her creations as they aged and died. She would solve all mysteries, even the mystery of death, and so journeyed to the underworld.

The Guardian of the Portals challenged her: ‘Strip off thy garments, lay aside thy jewels; for naught may you bring with you into this our land, for it is written that your True Self is the only fitting adornment for those in the realms of Death.’

So she laid down her garments and her jewels, and was bound, as all living must be who seek to enter the realms of Death, the Mighty One.

Such was her beauty that Death himself knelt, and laid his sword and crown at her feet, and kissed her feet, saying: ‘Blessed be thy feet that have brought thee in these ways. Abide with me; but let me place my cold hand on thy heart.’

And she replied: ‘Why do you cause all things that I love, and take delight in, to fade and die?’

‘Lady,’ replied Death, ‘it is age and fate, against which I am helpless. Age causes all things to wither; but when men die at the end of time, I give them rest and peace and strength, so that they may return. But you, you are lovely. Return not, abide with me.’

And she replied, ‘Nay, I love thee not and I am needed in the world of the living.’

Again Death knelt, and kissed her knees, saying: ‘Blessed be thy knees that kneel before the Altar. Abide with me; let me place my cold hand on thy heart.’

And she replied, ‘Nay, I love thee not and I am needed in the world of the living.’

Death (still kneeling), kissed her on the womb, saying: ‘Blessed be thy organs of generation, without which none of us would be. Abide with me; let me place my cold hand on thy heart.’

And she replied, ‘Nay though I feel the beginnings of love for thee, I must return to those I fully love in the world of creation.’

Death then stood, and kissed her on the breast, saying: Blessed be thy breast, formed in strength and beauty. Abide with me; let me place my cold hand on thy heart.’

And she replied, ‘Nay though I feel love for thee, I must not abandon those I am responsible for, in the world of creation. I cannot do this thing, better you would return with me.’

‘Lady,’ replied Death, It cannot be so. If I were to leave my realm, and abandon those who seek their comfort and rest with me, then the Wheel would no longer turn. Age and weakness would overtake those whom you love, and they would have nowhere to find rest, and peace, and reunion with those who have gone before. As age and debility overtook your creations, there would quickly be no room for the new, only the withered, the tired, and the stagnant.’ He then kissed her lips, saying: ‘Blessed be thy lips, which shall utter the Holy Names. Abide with me; let me place my cold hand on thy heart.’ And she replied, Let us BOTH lay our hands, each unto the heart of the other, thereby claiming and uniting each unto the other. In this way may I rule my kingdom of birth, creation, and life; yet share with you your kingdom of death, rejuvenation, and rest. United in Perfect Love and Perfect Trust, that the Universe may be whole and the Wheel turn smoothly.

Death replied, ‘This is indeed WISDOM, So Mote it Be!’ They embraced, thus pledging their eternal love.

And he taught her all his mysteries, and gave her the necklace which is the circle of rebirth. And she taught him her mystery of the sacred cup which is the cauldron of rebirth.

They loved, and were one; for there be three great mysteries in the life of mankind, and magic controls them all. To fulfill love, you must return again at the same time and at the same place as the loved ones; and you must meet, and know, and remember, and love them again.

But to be reborn, you must die, and be made ready for a new body. And to die, you must be born; and without love, you may not be born. And our Goddess is ever inclined to love, and mirth, and happiness; and guards and cherishes her hidden children in life, and in death she teaches the way to her communion; and even in this world she teaches them the mystery of the Magic Circle, which is placed between the worlds of men and of the Gods.

And thus we are taught of the beginnings of the wheel of the year wherein the Lord and the Lady share their rulership of the year, each offering and sharing a balance to the other, and the basis of that sharing.

The Goddess Is Alive

Moon shines down upon a sea of Light,
Shifting sands lay singing in the Heart of the Night.
I looked upon a scene that gripped me to the core,
White-clad maidens below were dancing on the shore.

Sweet sounds slipped from moon-lit throats,
Wind whipped hair abound,
Lit by the light within and without,
The Women circled ’round.

As I stood, water engulfed my feet,
My body swayed to your Heavenly Heart beat.
Wind and wave and fire light,
Paled in my mind Earthly delight.

Time slipped by me as you held your embrace,
And windblown spray covered my face.
Protected deep within your Womb,
I could feel the tender pain of Life’s bloom.

Candles flared high as the Dance progressed,
Deep inside with a healing touch you blessed.
All around, wind, wave and fire shouted of your life,
Your light speared deep within, soothing my strife.

Divine Mother, Goddess of Light,
To you I come seeking protection from the night.
Come home to shelter within your arm,
Surrounded by Love, hidden from harm.

Holy Mother, Queen of Heaven and Earth,
From you we all trace our Birth.
Heavenly Goddess, light from above,

Statement of Intent

My intent is to walk in Peace and Love, feeling that Love, spreading that Love, by BEING that Love.
My intent is to forgive and have compassion for all people, including myself.

My intent is to exist in the moment with no attachment to outcomes. To observe what IS, while also affirming what I choose to create and attract.

My intent is to see every person on this Earth as a Brother or a Sister and as a being of the Divine, for we are all One and so it is.

My intent is to recognize the divinity in each person, no matter what their external projection is.
My intent is to feel joy when I look out onto this world, and to let that love well up inside me like a raging river, flowing out onto everything and everyone I come in contact with.

My intent is to feel all that I feel. To honor all feelings as valid, and then choose to direct my energy in a way that best serves my higher goals.

My intent is to live in the energy of YES. Yes to myself. And to realize that sometimes saying “No” is needed in order to say “Yes” to myself.

My intent is to recognize that I am deserving and worthy of love and abundance. And that I am perfect just as I am in this moment.

My intent is to stay open to my intuition and to the messages of my soul. To trust that I am taken care of and provided for in all moments and in all situations.

Baby, it’s cold outside! This winter however, you can anticipate plenty of body heat between you and someone special.

A rare, sizzling mutual reception between Mars in Aquarius and Uranus in Aries will boost your sex life between December 27 and February 2. If you’re typically shy in the bedroom, don’t be shocked if you’re suddenly in the mood to spice things up!

Winter receives an indulgent, romantic welcome on December 21, as Venus and Jupiter oppose one another. These two planets make love sweeter — even if they go overboard as they prompt you to express affection.

 

Aries (March 21 – April 19)

Love is an adventure! You’re likely to feel as if your potential for romantic fulfillment is one giant open road as winter begins. If you’re single, a sudden encounter with a friend or someone introduced to you through a friend may leave you breathless between December 27 and February 2. What starts out as a fun, “no strings attached” winter romance may turn into something more after a heartfelt conversation with your lover on February 6. Leo (July 23 – Aug. 22)

Good Thursday Morning, all my lovely friends! Take A Look, We Need Your Help!

No fancy graphics, no humorous sayings! I am very serious today. We need your help! Desperately. My true love, the animal refuge, is going to need some funding. Right now, I have enough supplies to make it for a few more days. But I have received an influx of animals from the local vets. It is normal for this time of year. The nights are cooler, the animals roam, they get hit by cars, some injured, others leaving behind babies. You understand what I mean. But right now, I am using a larger than usual amount of hay. Hay isn’t cheap this year. I am also using baby formula and purchasing (at a huge discount) baby mice. You will see why in just a minute. I have took as many pictures as possible of the new critters that have arrived. I wanted you to see their cute little faces that way you will know what you are helping. So let me show you some of these little darlings.

 There are four of these little cuties. They were found not to far from a local pond in the game reserve. They were all cuddled up around their dead mother. She apparently died trying to defend them.  But all of them require a bottle to be fed and they are getting fat as little pigs. Oh, I don’t know if some of you have heard or not baby skunks don’t spray. HA! In a few weeks, this little guy will be able to spray if he feels threatened. But they are absolutely adorable.

This guy is a very unusual critter to end up in our refuge. We might get one or two a year. So they are very rare for us. But isn’t he beautiful. He is the reason, I am purchasing mice. I ought to have took a picture of him eating. It is cool to watch him eat. I just love him. He has a broken wing. He will probably be here for at least two or three weeks. He likes to stay perched up high. One of us has to pick him up and put him up on a board. Then we have to stay outside in the barn to watch him. When he tries to get down, we run and get him and put him back on the ground. Sounds like a lot of work, but I love doing it.

This little guy came in by himself. He is a victim of a vicious hunter. A hunter who shot his mother and displayed her across the front of his jeep as he drove off. People like that make my butt work button holes. He is just two weeks old. He just recently opened his eyes before we got him. He doesn’t know how to eat on his own. So he is bottle fed too.

This is another bobcat kitten that is two months old. He came in because of the same reason. His mother was shot due to a uncaring hunter. The bastard also went so far as to shoot his brothers and sisters. I guess the noise scared this little gal so bad she ran for her life. Thankfully she ran toward safety and someone who would take her and get her to safety.  She is a sweetheart.

A beautiful deer fawn.  She is still wobbly on her legs.  We also offer her a bottle and she takes it. Her mother  was shot by a hunter, out of season.  She is so gentle and loving. It will be very hard to get her back out into the wild.

A beautiful gray fox. He had his paw caught in a trap and had practically chewed it off when he was found. He isn’t that friendly but he is learning, we don’t want to hurt him. We are trying to help him. In a few weeks, he will be able to return to the wild and hopefully no more traps.

Last but definitely not least, this is Razzy. I just had to show you how she had grown and how beautiful she is. She came to us in a set of three kittens. She was so affectionate and loving. We immediately bonded.  It just goes to show you, these poor animals that start out in life so badly can turn into the most beautiful animals on the planet. Razzy is gentle, loving, protective and thinks she is just a big housecat. She loves Kiki and my old tomcat to pieces. They all live together as brothers and sisters. She loves to jump on my back and also sit on my shoulders. The little heifer weighs about 35 lbs. Can you imagine that sitting on your shoulders?

But you see what your money goes to help. We currently need hay/straw, bottles, formula, bandages, antibiotic ointment and grain. Like I said earlier, we have enough supplies right now for the next few days. But we are going to run out and we need your help.

It doesn’t matter how much you can give, every dime counts. Heck $5.00 will buy a bale of hay, which will feed a deer for a few days. Or it will keep a fox warm for a couple of days. $10.00 will buy a case of formula for the baby skunks, bobcat, and fawn. See it doesn’t take much to assist this little critters.
