And the gods they tremble;
The spirits of heaven tremble at thy name
And the men hold it in awe.
Where thou glancest the dead come to life,
And the sick rise and walk;
And the mind that is distressed is healed
When it looks upon thy face.

Call and response:
For lo, I am the Keeper of the Storehouse
And I am generous to all men!
From my breasts nourishment spills
From my hands nourishment flows
From my heart nourishment streams
I am the Morning Star
I am the Evening Star
I am the Star of Heaven
And I give unto all humanity.

(After this, all should being the work of inventorying all the resources of the house, in Ishtar’s name, so that they may be used more efficiently and that it can be known what can be given to others out of generosity.)

Celebrating Other Spirituality 365 days a year – Day of Ishtar

Witchy Comments & Graphics

Celebrating Other Spirituality 365 days a year

January 27th

Day of Ishtar

In ancient Babylon, Ishtar was acknowledged as the “Light of  the World” and the Goddess of the morning and evening. Her symbols were an eight-pointed star and crescent moon. She was divine personification of the planet Venus and the dispenser of the Never-Failing Waters of Life. Fertility and all aspects of creation were Her epiphany.

Thank The Goddess It Is Thursday, Terrific, Fabulous Thursday!

Good Morning my dear brothers & sisters of The Craft! How is each and everyone of you doing? I hope super. Since I am getting an early start today, I have two things I want to discuss with you. One is happy and the other pisses me to the bone.

First the happy one, I got the poll results about wanting a raffle for a shopping spree in the store. Guess What? It was a yes. You want a chance at a $50.00 shopping spree in our little store, fabulous. I will make up the golden ticket tonight and tomorrow the raffle will start. The golden ticket is symbolic that you won. Don’t worry if you lose it, we will have your name and keep up with the amount you have left to spend. I should add there will be no tax added to this $50.00 so it all goes toward merchandise. All there is left to say is “Good Luck!”

Now for the thing that pisses me to the bottom…….If you will remember yesterday, the Deity of the Day was Ishtar. Her description was exactly this:

Deity of the Day – Ishtar

Ishtar

Dual-aspected Assyro-Babylonian Goddess. She is a warrior Goddess but also the Goddess of Love. She is the patroness and protector of prostitutes (sacred prostitution formed part of her worship) and when she descended to the earthly plane, she was almost always in the company of “courtesans, harlots and strumpets”. If a working girl or exotic dancer is in trouble, she can call on Ishtar for protection and Ishtar will provide it in her warrior Goddess form. As Goddess of Love and voluptuousness, Ishtar can help you if you wish to attract a lover or increase your sexual attractiveness. Beware though, she does have an irritable, violently passionate side to Her Nature.

This was reblogged on another site with this comment made about this Deity….

“Sounds like a Goddess that could REALLY benefit a “Seductress” Eh?  HA!  Geesh”

I guess this clown thought it was funny but I don’t. All of our Goddesses, Gods, and Deities are very sacred to us. To make fun or even a slight remark like this is blasphemy as far as I am concerned. There is one thing I can say about our Gods, Goddesses and Deities, they overlook no one. Whether you are a common prostitute or a drug dealer, they see your potential for good. And they are there to pull you out of your slump and give you new hope and guidance for a better life.

I know my Goddesses, Gods and Deities are real. I feel them constantly, they are everywhere. I have a very high respect and regards for them. I would never, ever say anything even in jest against them. And I pity the person that would. It only shows their ignorance and the lack of respect for other religions.

I have never bashed another Religion on this site and I never will. I keep hoping for a better day when we can all respect each other, their lifestyles and their Religions. But it seems that day is still a long way off.

I know it is only one Deity so why make a big deal about it. Simple, it starts with one then leads to two, then three and so on. After a while it is our entire Religion, do you want that? I know I don’t. We have worked to hard to allow this to happen. Whether it is one Deity or our entire Religion in question, we must stand up against those who are so ignorant as to make fun or ridicule us in anyway.

We must always stand up for ourselves and our Religion, if we don’t no one will. Remember that. Remember how far we have came and remember we will let no one put us down again, EVER!

*As far as this site goes that made the remark about Ishtar, I will be contacting WordPress today in regards to Religious Bashing. All of the sites that have been accused of religious bashing has been closed down and no longer exist on WordPress.*

Ahhh, What A Beautiful Thursday! Goddess Bless You, My Precious Friends!

Goddess Comments & Graphics

MY GODDESS IS ALIVE!

Charge Of the Goddess

this is another version, it is unknown who the author is

Listen to the words of the Great Goddess, who in ancient times was named Artemis, Diana, Astarte, Ishtar, Aphrodite, Venus, Cerridwen, the Morrigu, Freyja, the White Lady, and many other names.

Whenever you have need of My aid, assemble in a secret place at least once a month, especially at the Full Moon. Know that My laws and love shall make you free, for no man can prevent your worship of Me in your mind and heart. Listen well when you come into My presence, and I shall teach you of deep mysteries, ancient and powerful. I require no sacrifices or pain of your bodies, for I am Mother of all things, the Creatress who made you out of My love, and the One who endures through time.

I am the One who is the beauty of the Earth, the green of growing things. I am the white Moon whose light is full among the stars, soft upon the Earth. From Me all things are born, to Me all things, in their season return. Let My joyous worship be in your hearts, for all acts of love and pleasure are My rituals. You see Me in the love of man and woman, the love of parent and child, the love of humans to all My creations. When you create with your hands, I am there. I blow the breath of life into the seeds you plant, whether of plant or child. Always I stand beside you, whispering soft words of wisdom and guidance.

All seekers of the Mysteries must come to Me, for I am the True Source, the Keeper of the Cauldron. All who seek to know Me, know this. All your seeking and yearning will avail you nothing unless you know the Mystery: for if what you seek you find not within, you will never find it without. For behold, I have been with you from the beginning, and I will gather you to My breast at the end of your earthy existence.

Goddess Comments & Graphics

I will make this as short as possible. I had a comment in the back that made my rump start working buttholes. The comment was something like this, “Wonderful, Beautiful, Goddess…..It is ashame your mothers have to die before they can watch over their children.” There was also mention of our Gods and Goddesses all being dead. Yeah, I bet that’s the part that pissed me off.

It hit me, the very gall of this person to imply my Gods and Goddesses are dead. I am still shaking my head over this comment. You don’t know whether to pity a person like this or to hate them. Of course, I would like to think I am the better person and pity them. Pity them for they do not realize NOTHING about our RELIGION. NOT ONE THING!

My Goddess and God is alive. I feel them every morning when I wake up. They are beside me throughout my day. They protect me, they comfort me and they love me. I know this for sure. I can feel Their warmth of love and comfort encompassing my body everyday.  When I have a problem, I turn to the Goddess. She always provides for my needs. There is nothing I cannot ask that my Great Mother has not done. I pity you because you have not come to know Her. The Goddess will accept anyone who seeks Her out. All you have to do is call out Her name and She will appear to you. If not in physical form, She will give you  sign She is near.

Once you experience my Goddess’ love, never, ever tell me She or any other of my Gods or Goddesses are dead. They  all walk amongst us.  Never attack my Religion again. I am very tolerant of other Religions. I believe each person should worship as they choose. You leave my beliefs and myself alone and I will do the same.

I do pity you though, you poor soul!

Ancient Mother

ANCIENT MOTHER

Holy Mother, you are the Earth!

You ground us as we walk upon you,

You are in the trees that shelter us

And when we hug the trees we hug you.

You were here from the very first,

Nurturing us; and we made clay statues

Celebrating your thighs and breasts

That birthed us and fed us.

We baked bread in your images,

Since we knew all food came from you.

Lady of the Beasts, we are grateful…

Since earliest times, we have loved you.

Asherah, Astarte, Mawu, Inanna,

Ishtar, Anahita, Gaia, Isis;

So many from such different lands!

We don’t know all of your many names,

But we know you have always loved us,

Cared for us and protected us;

You are rooted in our lives and our dreams.

We hear your voice in the humming bees

See your beauty in the blooming flowers,

Hear the sound of your drum and sistrum.

The very beat of our hearts is in tune with you,

For you are the Ancient Mother of our souls.
