Feng Shui News for March 26: ‘American Diabetes Association Alert Day’

Today’s ‘American Diabetes Association Alert Day’ is one that’s close to my heart and my pancreas. I strongly urge everyone to have their blood sugar levels checked on a regular basis. In fact, cinnamon can help to regulate those numbers in an all-natural way. Research has proven that taking a half-teaspoon of cinnamon a day can result in improved blood glucose levels. Of course, regular exercise and controlling carbohydrate intake are also required to turn diabetes around, but starting on this spice road will be a good beginning towards better health.

Feng Shui Tip for February 28th – ‘Floral Design Day’

On ‘Floral Design Day’ I want to share a fabulous Feng Shui secret about love attracting flowers. A combination of peonies and roses is believed to bring suitors straight to your door, so why not place some in a vase and keep them by your bedside. Soon enough, they won’t be the only things beside you in that bedroom.

Daily Feng Shui Tip for August 30 – ‘National Holistic Pet Day’

Let’s give kitty equal consideration on today’s ‘National Holistic Pet Day.’ If you have a cat who uses all the wood in your home as their personal scratching post, then put a pinch of chili sauce there. The smell of the spice will keep the cat away while your Feng Shui Fortune Mouse plays. You need only to rub a little of the sauce on the wood and then buff it off in order to keep cats away. If you have an older male cat who is experiencing urinary problems (always consult your vet in regard to any pet advice), treat this problem holistically by adding one teaspoon of white vinegar to the cat’s water. This will help to prevent the formation of stones and potentially high cost remedies and treatments. Likewise, a diet of low-ash cat food also helps this urinary agenda. Alternative advice also says that mothballs should be put between cushions to keep the cat off the couch. Lastly, if your cat comes home with a few scratches to show for his night out, then clean the wounds with warm water before breaking open a Vitamin E capsule and squeezing the oil directly onto the affected area. Just add more if the cat licks the oil off — it can’t hurt him. Go ahead and try these tips as I think they’re the cat’s meow!

Feng Shui Tip of the Day for Aug. 27: ‘Global Forgiveness Day’

It’s another of those days that I hold dear to my heart. Today’s ‘Global Forgiveness Day’ is a time to bury the hatchet and forgive. But if you’re having trouble putting the past behind you and can’t say anything positive to someone who has hurt you, then try an old remedy that I know works like a charm. Take any small, lidded jar and remove the lid. On a piece of white paper in green ink write the name of the offending party, fold the paper to fit into the jar, and cover it with just enough honey to submerge it. Tightly seal the jar and place it somewhere in your kitchen. Each day, for nine consecutive days, place a small white candle atop the jar and light it. Allow the candle to burn for a few minutes while you see this whole situation sweetening. After the ninth day the candle should be fully burned (if it has already burned out, replace with a fresh one until the nine days are done). Then put the jar in a paper bag and dispose of it somewhere outside of your house. Not only should the hostility and harsh feelings all become a thing of the past, but your pain should do the same.

Daily Feng Shui Tip for August 15th

Kathleen, are you reading this? Because I am dedicating today’s energies to you! That means that I will be sending you a small statue of a Buddha so that you can enjoy an atmosphere of serenity, joy and contentment, since these are all the qualities that you bring to my life. Buddha will remind you not to work too hard and to embrace all the opportunities and blessings that he will bring to your life, especially when placed facing your front entryway door. Positioned in that way, the Buddha can invite and then welcome health, happiness, love and prosperity into your life, which is all that I could ever wish for such a wonderful, loving and best friend!

Feng Shui Tip for August 10th – ‘Lazy Day’

I can really wrap my beach blanket around today’s ‘Lazy Day.’ And if you too want to veg out and restore your soul, this would be the best day to do exactly that! But also be sure to end the day by taking this stress-reducing bath. Add one tablespoon of sesame oil to bath water and place two tablespoons of uncooked rice and one chopped, unpeeled, raw potato in some sort of net. Suspend the net into the water and then get in. Close your eyes and concentrate on the area at the end of your coccyx, all the while massaging the soles of your feet. Do this for a few minutes and let your stress and cares soak away! As worries and woes circle down the drain you’ll feel your energy returning along with your enthusiasm and optimism! Now that’s a productive lazy day!

Daily Feng Shui Tip of the Day for July 3rd

Mirrors are considered the ‘aspirin’ of Feng Shui since they can ‘cure’ a laundry list of whatever ails you. So I’m delighted to participate in ‘Compliment Your Mirror Day.’ In fact, few Feng Shui activators promise as much energetic movement as does the mirror. So here are some mirror ‘do’s’ to help you reflect on how important these decorating resources can be. Do reflect your dining area, as this is believed to ‘double’ the abundance in a room known to be associated with profusion. In fact, Feng Shui believes the dining room to be the perfect location for mirrors because that room represents the family’s wealth. Do reflect beautiful views as well. If any of your rooms have a view of trees, water or a beautiful garden, ‘double’ that energy while bringing all that beauty inside the house. Of course, one of the oldest interior decoration tips shares that using mirrors can actually open up a space, especially if that space is a long hallway or a small room. Leaning a mirror up against a wall can visually open up the room, while hanging one in a long hallway will slow down ‘whooshing’ Chi and open that space up as well. So today, whenever you pass any mirrors in your living space, take a long look in it and tell yourself how wonderful you are before telling your mirror the exact same thing. They enjoy the compliment as much as you do!
