Pause A Moment For Our Morning Invocation

Gothic Comments

Gracious Goddess, Who lives within Me,

Help me to understand Your Ways.

Guide my feet as they try Your Path

And keep me safely out of harm’s way.

Teach me to trust myself, my inner child,

and my instincts,

For I am a product of Your Creative Force;

And by my very existence

Form an important part of Your Universal Plan.

Make my life not a test,

But instead–a joy

And speak to me through my intuitive nature

So that I cease to see my whims and fancies

As mere frivolity.

Let me view the, instead,

As what they are–

An important part of who I am

In Your World.

So Mote It Be

The Astrology of 2012: The End of Days?

The Astrology of 2012: The End of Days?

Get ready for a cosmic call to action in 2013

by Rick Levine

Are you scared? Don’t be! As we approach the infamous date of the end of the Mayan calendar on December 21, 2012, fear continues to mount that it really is the end of days. But fortunately we’re here to set the record straight about that.

Countless books are now available that describe a Doomsday scenario, and of course Sony Pictures already released the John Cusack movie 2012 years ago, the major motion picture with a promotional website called   “whowillsurvive2012.com.” As Sony stated in its film promotion, “Never before has a date in history been   so significant to so many cultures, so many religions, scientists and governments. 2012 is an epic   adventure about a global cataclysm that brings an end to the world and tells the heroic struggle of the   survivors.”

The good news is that the world will not really end in 2012, although you don’t need to be an astrologer   to see how quickly things are changing. You can get key dates and prediction for the year ahead with a Big Picture Yearly Astrology Forecast, but whatever big changes are coming, you can trust we will still be here.

Civilization as we know it seems to be in a precarious situation,   with growing political unrest and financial stresses warning us that we are repeating epic mistakes from   our own cultural history. For example, we have just witnessed the sharpest economic downturn since the   Great Depression. Differences in political ideologies and spiritual beliefs continue to fuel increasingly   destructive wars and unrest across the Middle East. Environmental threats make our water and food supplies more and more scarce; meanwhile,   we are powering our world with a diminishing reserve of oil and others resources. So it’s no surprise   that so many people — experts and laymen alike — are predicting that the fabric of our entire society   is dangerously at risk.

Nothing to fear but fear itself

But if you look to the skies, you’ll see there’s nothing to fear on that notorious day in 2012. Astrologers watch the cycles of the Sun, Moon and planets to understand the changing nature of time and   to put these shifts into historical perspective. For example, we had a dose of culture-wide panic at the   threshold of this century. The start of the year 2000 — or “Y2K” — was as an apocalyptic date; some   predicted that it would be the beginning of the “end times.” But astrologers could see then that there   were no planetary alignments significant enough to warrant this kind of fear.

2012 is different — there are significant astrological factors that indicate these are truly significant   times. But let’s clear one thing up right away: there won’t be a cataclysmic event on December 21, 2012.   It’s been claimed that on this first day of winter, the Sun will line up perfectly with the center of the   Milky Way Galaxy and that this will confirm the ancient Mayan prophecies. In other words, many claim that   the Sun’s change of position will mark the end of time. But there is a scientific problem with this   reasoning: The Sun’s alignment to the galactic center on Winter Solstice moves at the rate of one degree   every 72 years! Therefore, this cosmic event is so slow-moving that it lasts more than a decade.

As astrologers track the cycles of planets, they pay special attention to the lunation cycle, which is   the monthly flow of New Moons and Full Moons. This is how they are able predict the impact these   movements will have on the personal and emotional cycles of our daily lives. Meanwhile, astrologers also   track the activities of the slower-moving outer planets (the ones with the longest orbits), which create   their own rhythms and are more closely related to large historical cycles.

For example, Uranus symbolizes sudden changes that release explosive energy, which is why astrologers   refer to it as “The Great Awakener.” Pluto symbolizes total metamorphosis. The deep transformation that’s   associated with mysterious Pluto is dramatic and complete, like a caterpillar evolving into a butterfly,   which is why the profound cultural shifts of the 1960s corresponded with a conjunction between surprising   Uranus and passionate Pluto in 1965-1966.

In the summer of 2012, these two planetary harbingers of change will come into a hard 90-degree alignment   — their first since the mid-1960s. This dynamic angle between lightning-like Uranus and intense Pluto   recurs seven times from June 24, 2012 through March 16, 2015. This is the period of upheaval we should be   looking at, rather than focusing on a single day in 2012.

A great awakening

From an astrological perspective, we don’t have to wait until 2012 for the action to begin,   because we are already in a time of profound change, not unlike the 1960s. Now, however, we communicate   in ways that are far more revolutionary, due to our constant interconnection via cell phone, email,   Facebook, MySpace, Twitter and numerous other social networks. There are new political opportunities for   disenfranchised people all over the world to connect with one another, which may explain Barack Obama’s   meteoric rise to the Whitehouse over the fearful cries of the old-school American political machine. It   is this factor — our ability to communicate more quickly and openly — that will prevent the end of the   world.

Astrology is not about predicting fated events; it’s about being aware of cosmic movements so we can get   our timing right to make positive changes. The Astrology of 2012 is not about announcing the end of the   world. Rather, it’s a call to action. Each and every one of us has a job to do, because as the great   psychologist Carl Jung said, “The salvation of the world depends upon the salvation of the individuals   living in it.”

Some of us may play larger roles in the current changes by getting involved in community, national or   global politics. But each of us adds to the total picture when we live our individual lives responsibly.   Astrology reminds us that there is no time to waste — we are each an agent of change and each of us can   impact the big picture by replacing doubt with courage, and by conquering fear with love.

In other words, this is truly the time to “think globally and act locally.”

Greetings & Blessings to All My Wonderful Friends & Family!

Sympathy Comments

I am apologize for running late today. I was trying to get all my material ready for this day. Today is a very sad and sobering day for myself. I know at this site we have huge family of followers and perhaps some of them were affected by the shooting in Connecticut. I know every time I hear a news article on TV about the shootings, I cry. This makes me think I have come in contact with someone who is grieving this very day. I hope and pray I am wrong but I don’t believe I am.

I have lost loved ones myself. My mother, at a very young age, my father later in life and my sister. My entire family has passed on. The hardest death I had to deal with was my sister’s. It is only until recently I have come to terms with her passing. She has been gone now for six years. There is no magick pill you can take and make your pain and grief go away. It takes time and in some cases, years. My mother, I have never got over her death. At this stage in life, I don’t believe I ever will. I have a dear, dear loved one that pass on and I blame myself for his death. Now that is a heavy burden to live with. It was because the feelings he had for me that caused his death. I know this and there are days when it is very hard to go on. All of these emotions are normal. You blame yourself, you have guilt, what could you have done, you should have been there. So many questions run through your mind. But you can’t come up with the answers.

Death, unfortunately, is something we will all have to deal with at one time or another. You can never prepare yourself for death. It comes like a stranger in the night, stealing our loved ones away from us. The young, the old, it doesn’t matter, they were our loved ones. It isn’t fair but no one ever said life was fair. We have to deal with the hand we are dealt. Grief is something that hits us like a stone wall. Our worlds are turned upside down. Our hearts are broken. We feel like our world has ended. Where do we go from here?

Times like these are the times we turn to our Faith. You call upon the Goddess. You ask for Her mercy, Her love and most of all Her comfort. The Goddess is the gentle Mother of all of us. She knows us better than anyone. Our Great Mother, will assist you in your grief. Give you aid, when you then you can’t go on. When you think all is lost, She will give you Love. Hers is a Divine Love that you can take comfort in. The Goddess is there waiting for you. All you have to do is just ask for Her help. You can survive this with the help of our Great Mother. Just ask Her.

To think this candle can be snuffed out as quickly as a child’s life is a horrible and terrifying thought.

What has gone wrong with the world? I just read on MSN about the shootings at the Elementary School in Connecticut. Words can not describe how I feel right now. I have children of my own and I truly grieve with the parents that lost children this awful day.

This is suppose to be the most joyous time of the year. But yet we have a gunman go into an Elementary school and kill our children. Can you imagine those poor little children? Oh, Goddess, it is a horrible image. Their little lives cut so short. So much hope and potential for the future passed on this day. There is no reason to ask why nor should anyone look for a reason. For someone to do such an act, they have to be out of their mind. Crazy or not even have a mind at all, a Monster is the only word I can think of to describe this type of person. But the killer should not be remembered. For this is why he did such a horrible act for fame, glory and most of all to be remembered. Instead, we should forget about him and focus on those who need us most right now. The parents, husbands, wives, family and friends who lost their loved ones today.

There pain and grief consumes me. I can feel their emotions so strongly. It is as if I had lost a child of my own. How does anyone ever heal from the lost of a child? Is it possible? Especially at Yule and Christmas. There are their presents waiting to be opened. Mom and Dad watching as they come down the stairs to see what Santa had brought. Their eyes twinkling with delight when they open their presents. All of that taken away from these parents by a lone gunman. Why pick on our innocent children? Because they are so defenseless and trusting. What do we have to do in this country to keep such tragedies from reoccurring?

Tonight the town in Connecticut along with the entire country mourns the lost of these young souls. We have no words of comfort. Nothing will ease their pain, not even time. The loss of a child is simply unbearable. No parent should ever have to burying their own child. I can’t imagine their heartbreak nor what they must be experiencing. Such loss, such emptiness, the lives of the young and innocent cut so, so short.

Goddess, grant these parents peace,

I know if is hard for them to find it at this time.

But grant them Your Love and Comfort at this

their hour of need.

Give them the knowledge their children have

left this old cruel world and gone to a much

brighter and happier place. A place they will

be with their Eternal Mother.

Take away the parents and families heavy

hearts, remind them though their loss be great,

we will all meet again one day.

One day in Your Glorious Love and Light, we

will all reunite. All sorrows shall be forgotten,

all heavy hearts mended.

For that day, tears will be no more,

but sounds of laughter and love will

fill the Summerlands.

Goddess, grant them peace and let

them know they are not alone.

All of our heart are heavy and bear

their sorrow.

So Mote It Be.

Good Thursday Morning, dear brothers & sisters!

Today, in Kentucky it is a glorious, sunshiny day. We haven’t seen the sun in so long I almost forgot what it looked liked. But when I look out the window, I stop to think about all of our brothers & sisters in New York, New Jersey, Philadelphia, and all the other regions that are in devastation. It makes me feel guilty to have such a beautiful day here and yet they are hit by another storm. How much more can these poor people endure?

I remember in Kentucky, about 4 years ago, we had a severe ice storm here. We didn’t have any warning about it. We went to bed one night, got up the next and we were covered in ice. A crippling ice storm had hit our area, the ice was severe inches thick on the roads. If you were lucky enough to get on the roads, you would slide right back off of them. The trees were weighed down with ice. It sounded like shotguns going off when the branches broke. When a tree fell the earth literally shook. Our power was out for 14 days. To me it seemed like an eternity. Daylight was fine. I could manage it but when night fell, I felt like the whole world was closing in on me. I think what kept me sane was meditation and talking to the Goddess. I also didn’t sleep during the night. I kept a watch on the kerosene heater to make sure we stayed warm and didn’t die from the fumes. To this day, these fourteen days seem as fresh as yesterday. One day, we were living in modern comfort, the next we were forced back into the 1600′s. It was a traumatic experience probably one I will never ever forget. But we were much luckier than those individuals up-state. We had our home. We had a place we could feel safe in. We lost nothing except some power and of course some inconvenience. But nothing like those people up North. I have only lived through some of what they are going through. I know what kind of mark it left on me. I only hope and pray they come through this and rebuild better than before. Have a life full of much happiness and joy.

In case any of the storm victims are able to read this. I want you to know that we haven’t forgot about you. We keep you in our hearts and prayers daily. If there are any of you (you & your area) need anything, let me know. Simply write me a comment, tell me what you need and give me an address. The WOTC will help you as much as we can. I will also post it on the side board for our family to read. I know there are many that want to help. All you have to do is ask.

Please remember we have not forgot you. If we can’t be with you physically, we are with you spirituality. You will get through this and we will help you in anyway we can.

May the Goddess grant you strength, courage and most of all Her love,

Lady Of The Abyss

&

The WOTC

29: Dangerous Depths

29: Dangerous Depths

Exposure to passing dangers brings good fortune to those who move beyond them. Like boaters passing through white-water rapids, when you are faced with serious challenges, you must remain alert, take all available precautions, and above all, keep going forward so as to remove yourself from harm’s way. Once the danger has passed, good fortune.

The positive aspect of challenges is that they offer an excellent chance to cleanse the senses and strengthen the spirit. Surviving crises brings tremendous reinvigoration, and sharpens the eye and mind for future challenges.

It is reckless to court danger, but critical to inner development not to shrink from it either. Those who respond to challenges most effectively are those who are able to establish an inner bubble of calm in the midst of the action. A calm center keeps one rooted in the moment, alert and focused. Courage at such times springs from focused attention, from a willingness to penetrate the moment of danger to its very core, so as to shape it and transform the situation.
