Laugh-A-Day for April 19th – You know you’re getting older when…

You know you’re getting older when…

Everything that works hurts, and what doesn’t hurt doesn’t work.

You feel like the morning after, and you haven’t been anywhere.

Your little black book only contains names ending in M.D.

Your children are beginning to look middle-aged.

Your mind makes contracts your body can’t keep.

You look forward to a dull evening.

Your knees buckle and your belt won’t.

Your back goes out more than you do.

You sink your teeth into a steak, and they stay there.

You know all the answers, but nobody asks the questions.

Life As The Witch – Does Cursing Make me Evil?

Witch-Spell-witches-and-wizards-18449264-394-498

Does Cursing Make me Evil?

It depends on your definition of evil, but in a conventional sense the answer must be, ‘yes’. In order to curse, we tap upon our inner darkness and bring it to the surface. When we tap this inner darkness, we come face to face with a part of our selves that most people would rather not admit that they have. It is a fair statement to say, at least for the duration of time, that you are actively cursing someone, that you are a force of darkness in and of yourself.

If you chose to continue to hold onto this darkness, then you would be soundly evil, or you may choose to let it go at the time that the curse is completed, but you will never be the same again. There are people that feel that if you only curse someone that deserves it, that there is no long term effect I would advise them to think about when you release the darkness, some of it always goes into you. Generally after a few successful curses, you will begin to find more and more people in your life that just so happen to deserve it. Chance? Not at all.

Daily Motivator for April 11th – The power of joy

The power of joy

See the things you do not as work, but as opportunities for joy. Put the  power of joy into the entirety of your day, into the whole of your life.

You can always choose your perspective, no matter what may be going on around  you. Living from a perspective of joy and positive presence gives you great  power to manifest that joy in the world at large.

Don’t limit the joy in your life by thinking of it only as something you must  find or acquire. See joy as one of the greatest gifts you have to give, to  yourself and to all of life.

You don’t have to live in a fantasy world or deny reality in order to be  joyful. Simply release joy from the limitations and conditions you have placed  on it, and it can always be a very real, and realistic, part of your  experience.

The place to always find joy is in your miraculous existence. Allow that joy  to flavor each moment, each situation, every effort and every choice.

Live your life with the power of real, true, uninhibited joy. And live the  great treasure that is always yours.

Life As The Witch – Casting Powerful Spells

Gothic Comments

Casting Powerful Spells

First of all, anyone can cast a powerful magical spell. If you think you’re not powerful enough, or not magical enough, or if you’re still a little skeptical about Wicca, don’t worry.

You will still be able to perform very effective magic, if you can follow some simple instructions.

There is a very important principle that underlies all magic spells you will perform.

Some people call it The Secret. Others know it as the Law of Attraction. But the point is, you will attract what you think about and focus on. That is how powerful your mind is.

Magic, using tools and words and spells, just enhances this natural ability that your mind has to attract.

Magic lets you powerfully attract what you want, and it works because of the Law of Attraction.

The key here is to make sure that everything you do is in line with your goals. All your thoughts, all your actions, and everything you do should be in agreement with what you are trying to attract.

For example: if you are trying a spell to lose weight, then looking in the mirror and saying “look how fat I am, I’m never going to lose this weight!” is going against your purpose.

You must think positive, and imagine the reality you wish to achieve with your spell.

And if you binge on brownies, bon-bons, and junk food, you are also going against your purpose.

And your spell is not going to work.

Let me repeat this again because it’s important.

Your spells will not work unless you put your entire being into achieving your goal.

Magic without the proper intention is just a bunch of rhyming words.

When you do magic, you want it to work for you.

So do yourself a favor, and make sure that you avoid anything that contradicts or goes against the purpose of your spell.

Making negative statements will cancel out any positive energy created by your spell. This means that the spell won’t work.

When you cast a spell, you need to be confident that it will succeed. In fact, the more confident you are, the more successful your spell is likely to be.

Try to frame your thoughts and statements positively: “I will lose the weight.” “I can and I will achieve my goals.” “I am eating healthy foods to achieve my goals.”

When you make positive statements like this, you create positive energy that reinforces your spell and makes it stronger.

So make sure you are creating positive energy for your spell, both before, during, and after your spell is cast.

What I Believe

WHAT I BELIEVE
by: Jessica Black

I have studied many different religions of the world. And if you strip them down to the core, in the middle they are all pretty much the same. Be good to yourself, be good to each other. On my path of personal discovery, I found that I am “pagan.” What that means to ME is…

I take history, mythology and religion and mix and match to create my own spirituality and worship and practice in my own way.

Spells are really just prayers with props, and rituals are just ceremonies. The essence of power is within our own minds.

You do not need any tools or temples to honor or seek guidance from something that IS everything. It surrounds us, courses through us, IS us. Most of us do not use enough of our brains to really focus without some kind of inspiration.

Symbols aid in visualization and directing energy. Whether it be to celebrate a season, honor elders and deities, heal a sick friend, or hopes for personal prosperity.

I don’t believe there are “gods” up in the heavens playing chess with our lives. But I believe that if you concentrate, you can tap into the natural rhythm of the Earth. You can direct your desires, and empower them, and make things happen.

Spirituality is how you see it… The higher powers and elements know when you speak to them, by any name.

And opening your mind you can learn to go with the natural flow of life. To make your dreams come true and help others. I stay strictly in the pale end of the spectrum, keeping my karma clean.

I practice what I preach.
I help when I can.
I never hurt intentionally.
I am not greedy.
I am thankful.

If you are a good person, it comes back to you. Regardless of what your religion is called, or what symbols and deities you use. Respect, and you will be respected.

Ask for what you want, nurture what you need. But like your grandmother told you when you were very little, “Be careful what you wish for.”

Spell to banish a bad habit

Spell to banish a bad habit

For this spell, simply carve the name of the habit you wish to banish on a white candle. Anoint the candle with Dragon’s Blood oil. Light the candle, and as it burns, visualize the habit “burning” away. As you visualize, say this rhyme:

Take this baneful habit away

Control is mine, and so it will stay

Laid to rest, it will bother me

no more I kick it out and lock the door

What An Eye Opener, huh? GOOD, GOOD TUESDAY Morning, my luvs!

I mean really who doesn’t like this song. Because I figured it would buy us some time, while we all took our seats. In case you have always wondered how we post so fast. The person that can type and post the fastest has all the other hunting info and zipping it to her. She then open about four emails at a time and decides which one goes where. See you don’t only have to have fast fingers, you also have to think fast.

Anyway, this bunch has been on holiday. Got to get off of here to get things going. It is great to be back.

Luv & hugs,

Lady A

“It’s The Weekend, WOTC! Have A Great One, Brothers & Sisters!”

“In Roman mythology, Flora was a goddess of flowers and the  season of spring.  While she was otherwise a relatively minor figure in  Roman mythology, being one among several fertility goddesses, her association  with the spring gave her particular importance at the coming of springtime. Her  festival, the  Floralia,  was held in April or early May and symbolized the renewal of the cycle of life,  marked with dancing, drinking, and flowers.  Her Greek equivalent was Chloris.   Flora was married to Favonius,  the wind god, and her companion was Hercules.  Due to her association with  plants, her name in modern English also means plant life.  Flora achieved  more prominence in the neo-pagan revival of Antiquity among Renaissance  humanists than she had ever enjoyed in ancient Rome.”
