There is an old saying that goes you can’t always get what you want. Twice a year, distant Pluto turns motionless and that ancient truism immediately comes into earthly manifestation. Nevertheless, even though Pluto at 7 degrees of Capricorn is making a station and turning from reverse to direct tonight at 10:08PM PDT, you may still be able to get some goodies along the way. The main reason is that in the early hours the Moon in Libra makes a supportive, 60-degree link to Venus in Leo (1:40AM PDT). Love vibrations can temporarily flourish. Plus — the Moon provides another sense of relief and mental exuberance by forming a trine with Jupiter (8:28AM PDT). In between those two harmonious aspects, a Moon-Saturn parallel (4:29AM PDT) followed by an off-kilter, 150-degree link from Mercury to Neptune (7:26AM PDT) attempt to rain on your parade. It is the Mercury-Neptune connection that can equate with rising waves of confusion and chaos in business, trade and currency markets. It doesn’t help communications or travel plans very much as well. Add to this a frictional, 45-degree tie from Mercury to Mars (3:06PM PDT) and Moon-Neptune parallel (8:20PM PDT) and you may wind up going on a cosmic detour and losing your way. Of course, all of this uncertainty is happening before Pluto officially is motionless (10:08PM PDT). All Pluto themes — death-rebirth and regeneration, catharsis and metamorphosis, willpower, mysteries and secrets, atomic and nuclear forces, repression of feelings and memories, hypnosis, the Underworld, phobias and nightmares, extreme behavior patterns — are emphasized now and over the next day or two. [Pluto will remain in direct motion until April 12, 2013 when it will once again go into reverse at 12 degrees of Capricorn.]
